There's been a ton of buzz about the Uncharted movie especially since the film's previous director left. With Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception coming out tomorrow, now is the perfect time to dish out the theories as to who should play who in an Uncharted film.
Plenty of people have theories about who should be cast in what role. You've got the voice actors who the characters were loosely modelled off, but also the actors who're rumoured for the actual film.
So, for the record, the actors in these roles are cast based not only looks, but also on talent. So let's cast out the Mark Wahlberg, add in the Sully, and get this show on the road.
Nathan Drake "“ Jensen Ackles
There's been a lot of controversy surrounding who exactly should play Nathan Drake. Whether you're on Team Fillion or Team Flanigan, everyone has an opinion. Going against the grain a bit, I decided to cast Jensen Ackles of "Supernatural" fame. His natural charisma and comedic timing is impeccable. Playing someone like Drake would be a piece of cake.
Elena Fisher "“ Elisha Cuthbert
Elisha Cuthbert burst out on the scene as Jack Bauer's daughter in 24. What caught my eye is that not only is she beautiful, how she carries herself is very natural. For the role of Elena, the actress needs to have a good sense of what 'down to earth' means and Cuthbert would definitely be able handle it.
Victor Sullivan "“ JK Simmons
Like Nathan Drake, people already have a ton of preconceptions of who should play Sully and, nothing against Bruce Campbell, but JK Simmons would be a fantastic Sully. His work in both "The Closer" and in "Spiderman" are convincing enough.
Gabriel Roman "“ Anthony Head
If you don't know Anthony Stewart Head by name, you would probably know him as Giles, Buffy's Librarian/Watcher, on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". A common misconception with shows like "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" is that the show has to be poorly acted due to the fact that it's a show about vampires geared towards teenagers, but that's just not the case. Anthony Stewart Head's effortless performance is enough to make you believe him which is why it would be amazing to see him as Gabriel Roman, one of the prime antagonists of "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune".
Atoq Nacarro "“ Benjamin Bratt
First, we will completely disregard Benjamin Bratt's performance in Catwoman. Ok, now that that's settled, the rest of Benjamin Bratt's acting resume is actually not half bad. From 1995 until 2009, you could catch Bratt on "Law & Order" as detective Rey Curtis. To see him as Atoq in an Uncharted film would be pretty awesome.
Eddy Raja - Jesse Garcia
Let's be honest, there aren't a whole ton of Indonesian actors that are super well known in the States, so instead, we've decided to go with Jesse Garcia whose stardom began with his role in "Quinceanera." This went on to win the Grand Juy Prize at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival. He's had bit roles in shows like "Sons of Anarchy" and "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles". We strongly believe he could take on the role of Eddy Raja.
Chloe Frazer "“ Lena Heady
Finding an actress who looks and sounds exactly like Chloe Frazer is like finding a needle in a haystack. We could simply go with Claudia Black, but in an effort to be a bit more 'creative', we've chosen Lena Heady. You may know Heady from her role in "300" or perhaps her more recent role in "Game of Thrones". Either way, you know this chick is tough and could easily do an Australian accent. Based simply on these two performances, it's only natural that she get it.
Harry Flynn "“ Joe Anderson
Again, we will disregard that Joe Anderson was even on the bill for a Twilight film, and instead focus on the fact that he was in "Across the Universe" as the carefree, but military bound Max Carrigan. Anderson is one of those upcoming actors from England who I would love to see a lot more of. To see him as Harry would be perfection.
Zoran Lazarevic "“ Vinnie Jones
Vinnie Jones as Lazarevic. Why? Because he's the Juggernaut, bitch! But in all seriousness, there's no one else I could think of that would be better for this role than Jones. He's got the tough act down pat and with just a help of make up and a Russian accent, he could easily be the terrfyingly evil Lazarevic.
Karl Schafer "“ Jonathon Pryce
Jonathon Pryce is a fantastic actor whether he's the ruthless Elliot Carver from "Tomorrow Never Dies" or the soft and caring Governor Weatherby Swann in "Pirates of the Caribbean". Karl Schafer would be an amazing cameo role for Pryce, one that I really hope comes true should an Uncharted 2 film be produced.
