PlayStation 4 is just around the corner, but that's not stopping the PS Vita from taking its place in the spotlight. Not only do you get a promise of seamless streaming of PS4 games on the PS Vita via Remote Play, we also get a swarm of release dates for upcoming titles.
That's our cue to get you updated and informed of what and when those titles will hit shelves. So without further ado, let's delve into this month's PlayStation Vita round-up.
Right out of the gate in November is Castlestorm. It's a mash-up of several genres that helps to add up to an interesting game concept - a 2D tower defense, beat'em up that's based around physics. Build your castle with outfitted defenses, ballista, magics, and barracks to house soldiers, then defend it with your outfitted abilities or by manning some foot soldiers.
Castlestorm can be played offline or via WiFi with a friend. It features multiple game modes and will be available with cross-buy with the PS3 version. North America can purchase Castlestorm via PSN on November 5th, and Europe on the 6th.
Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition
Back in April, Injustice: Gods Among Us released to some high praise, gaining an average 80 Metacritic across platforms. Now it's back with a new Ultimate Edition. Featuring the same super hero fighting action as the original, Ultimate Edition also features all of the current DLC packed into one package.
If you're new to the Injustice craze, now is the best time to leap in. The game comes with over 30 new skins, 6 new characters, and 60 new missions. Ultimate Edition of Injustice: Gods Among Us hits North America on the 12th of November. Europe will see it on the 29th.
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes
Europe is about to see their release of Lego Marvel Super Heroes. For those of you who missed it, here is a quick run-down of the game. In usual LEGO fashion, this version looks to spoof the world of Marvel Heroes. Spread across many titles, this version still holds the 140 character roster where characters work together to stop Dr Doom.
Already being released in North America, it has been confirmed that the PS Vita version is unfortunately a port of the 3DS version. So those wondering about open world action, it's not here. However what remains is still a good game none the less. Look forward to LEGO Marvel Super Heroes to hit European shelves on November 15th.
Flower and flOw
Flower and flOw are two artistic and beautiful franchises exclusively on the PlayStation Network. Now fans of the two titles can rejoice in knowing that they will now be available for download on their PS Vita. While both titles remain sold separately, they both feature cross-buy. So if you've already purchased them for your PS3, there's no reason not to enjoy them on your PS Vita.
Flower will be available exclusively on the PSN in North America on November 15th and in Europe on the 29th. As for flOw, both North America and Europe can snag it on the 29th.
The Amazing Spider-Man
While the original PS3 title released to some mixed reviews, netting it a 71 Metacritic, this title still had some fans. The transition to the PS Vita leaves it still full featured and the same game many enjoyed playing. A full open world to explore, obtain collectibles, and complete missions.
Taking place a few months after the movie, Spider-Man discovers the corporation Oscorp is continuing work on human cross-species experiments. It's up to Spider-Man, as usual, to put a stop to it. The Amazing Spider-Man will be available via retail and PSN on November 19th in North America. No word given on a European release.
It's finally time. After almost 2 years of waiting, Tearaway is finally slated to arrive. From the brilliant minds at Media Molecule, Tearaway looks to utilize the features of the PS Vita in ways that are both fun and charming. You control an origami adventurer traveling through an almost pop-up book world. Everything, creature and environment, is origami art at your fingertips.
Stab your finger through the world, push the environment around, and venture through peril to your destination. Tearaway hits shelves in North America and Europe on the 22nd exclusively on PS Vita.
Ys Memories of Celceta
Just a reminder to fans of the Ys series, Memories of Celceta still has a release date up in the air. After some delays, many retailers are showing a late November release date. So while we still have no definite date, be sure to keep your eyes out for this gem. It was created by the staff of the original Ys series, and looks to continue the tradition of fast-paced action and adventure.
