I agree with Zero, my first Final Fantasy experience was with FFIX. FFVII was my second and I still love it Tongue

exactly my point. y'know, yea FF7 is extremely over-hyped. Is it the best game in the series? hell no! is it a good game, yea. It did a lot for the series. Stuff that we see more in the games today, such as high profile mini games, an beautiful cinematics. Now, granted, this is all my own opinion, but at the same time, how many people can honestly disagree with it?
Now, if anyone is curious about what the best is in my opinion, it's 6. If you haven't played it yet, I suggest you find a way to play it. It is more then worth it.

FF7 can be seen as best in the series.

I hate it when people say, "FF7 is overrated, is it the best in the series? HELL NO ....Is it a good game? YES"

But thats just their opinion, FF7 can be considered the best in the series by people, just as much as any of the others.

**its not my best but it can be considered by many and FAIRLY too**

Isn't 'overrated' just another way of saying a whole bunch of people like what I don't like? heh

People can be weird

On other forums people have ADMITTED to me that they show "hate" and "troll" FF7 just because FF7 fans outnumber the rest and because FF8 is picked on...so it boosts their ego to pick on the "popular one" which is FF7. Now when I interrogate these people via PM they admit they also like FF7 a lot...then why do they show so much hate? To boos ego and make other FF's seem "better" because they think FF7 is too overrated

Then some FF12 fans admitted to me that they trolled FF13 despite liking it because it sold more than FF12 which they thought was far better...some have given high scores to certain FF's (on sites where you can rate games) and then trolled them on the forums to join in the hate bandwagon going on against FF right now.

As I said people can be weird, I wouldn't trust opinions in most forum posts...don't even trust mine (I mean my avatar is of a goofy dog!)

The best thing to trust is to see user review averages on sites (where voted are over 1000)...usually people vote their true feelings there (on the whole...you have a small minority giving 10's and 0's).

Or how about just going with what you think is fun? Wink

Some people just have too much time on their hands, I don't even understand how trolling FFVII or XIII fans does anything to boost egos XD

You would be surprised Jedi.

Even I have been guilty of doing that.....my fav X-Men movie is X-Men 3...which many people hate soo much. So when First Class didn't do as well at the box office I trolled X-Men 3 haterzz....I did fall to the dark side then...but I DID get some sort of ego boost, some sort of feeling that these guys moaned about my beloved X-Men movie, now I can smack them back!

I did all that despite absolutely LOVING X-Men First Class..best movie in years IMO. But I am possessive about X-men 3

However childish it was I can't deny bittersweet revenge feels lovely. That was the dark side pitiful Jedi!

The temptation is always there, it is up to us to resist the power of the dark side!!!!!!!

heh, Only time I hate on something is either when I have experienced it and didn't like it at all (Resident Evil Survivor) or if I haven't experienced it and Drifter is going on about how much he likes it (use to do that all the time with Dead or Alive before I actually got to play DoA2 on PS2). But at the same time, he use to talk crap about Final Fantasy all the time, so it was about even LOL.

I can see why X-men 3 would get a better box office than First class. X-men movies had been gaining more and more critical acclaim and support, along with the spider-man movies and Batman begins coming out the year before increased the popularity of comic book movies a lot of people had high hopes for the 3rd installment. Unfortunatly many people (myself included) thought it fell short of its predecessors (and it did).

Then came along the terrible Wolverine movie and suddenly the x-men name ain't looking too shiny. Couple that with high cinema prices and a recovering economy and its perfectly exaptable for First Class not to have made as much as X-men 3 on its opening weekend, despite First Class being clearly the superior movie Tongue

People hate things for the sole purpose of their popularity all the time, mostly in music, casn't be cool unless you listen to bands that have never played in a venue bigger than a small living room, everybody else is a self out and as such can't possibly be good. FFVIII is just indy while VII is mainstream is all.

As an open ff7 fan boy I'm not gonna argue about which is better as I'm blind to any other game being better xD

A point I would like to make though is that I don't really think either squall or cloud are particularly emo when you think about it. They both seems like emos because of the fact they act like they have the weight of the world on their shoulders all the time and think it's not fair and that it's their burden to bare. But the fact is, given the circumstances they're both in, how could they not act like that? In both games they're almost solely responsible for saving the world!! When put under that much pressure and given soooo much responsibility you're gonna get a bit mopey and annoyed with the world. Personally I feel making the characters "emo" is just an accurate portrayal of how real humans act. We've all become used to the stereotypical hollywood hero who goes about everything with so much bravado and acts as if he hasn't a trouble in the world. Cloud and Squall are just being human in my opinion

Has no image til he resizes his flaming squirrel lol!!

Bow down before the flaming squirrel army or prepare to face my flaming, furry fury!!!!!!
