Holy cow, there is actually news this week in the world of Kingdom Hearts. Lauren, Darryl, Branden, and Churro sit down to talk about how Nomura has finally come out of his hole and has given some much needed info KH 3D, even though the information we received is rather cryptic. Famitsu also released the results from their KH poll and we have all the info ready to give you! After the long lost news section, the crew goes through your answers from the last Burning Question which was "what were your thoughts from KH’s presence (or lack of) at E3?" And what KHU show would be complete with out your questions? What band should do a song for KHU and who is your favorite voice actor? The show gets rounded out by some amazing music from the game to leave you wanting more! Don’t miss out! Kingdom Hearts Union is part of the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts Union podcast channel on Gaming Union/iTunes and releases an episode of KHU every three weeks.

Am I the only one who actually likes the complexity of the Kingdom Hearts storyline? XD

I do like the story's complexity, but I don't like how they keep changing things! It's obvious that KH wasn't completely thought out from the beginning, and THAT'S OK. BUT! They don't take what they wrote in prior games and work with it. They have a game, and then two games later, NO! *insert plot device* was actually *insert new stupid plot device we just came up with*.(NO Ansem was actually Xehanort's Heartless TROLOLOLOL, No Organization 13 actually had 14 members, NO Xehanort was actually an old bald guy and a young guy smushed together, etc. etc. etc.) When you do that it's not being clever. That's called "pulling it out of your ass".

The story's not hard to understand, they just need to have confidence in their writing and not feel the need to continually change what they write. They should move forward!

Also! Story pacing could use a little work. Something that I appreciate in FF is the occasional points of downtime where your characters get to catch their breath(Golden Saucer, The Calm Lands, etc.) These scenes are important because they let you process everything that's happened and help you grow closer to the characters. In the long run it pays off, cause if something dramatic happens to the character, it'll have more punch cause you were closer to them.

Am I the only one who enjoy Kingdom Hearts most when it was just a story about a kid named Sora jumping from world to world trying to find his friends? ;^;

It's still about finding friends...

Now it's about finding friends that we didn't know about until Nomura decided to write them in with the spin offs. Tongue

He also managed to make the whole KH series about these people that didn't exist until just recently. Dodgy

I actually like the complex, cris-cross story of Kingdom Hearts, I like how you see one thing and it doesn't make sense until later when you see how it connects to another. Take Birth by Sleep and KH 1 for example(how Sora got his Keyblade).

Complexity is fine,but certain plot points are not handled properly. They feel like they were just making it up as they go along. It's ok to add new things as you go along(I don't expect them to think of everything), BUT a good writer should be able to take your new ideas make it seem like you planned everything out.

An example of a good story addition: Riku received knowledge of other worlds and the ability to use the Keyblade when he met Terra. This is good because Riku seemed pretty well informed in the beginning of KH1 about other worlds. Even though Terra was an after thought, it fit with the story that already existed.

An example of a bad story addition: Ansem(KH1) was actually Xehanort's heartless pretending to be the real Ansem. This adds nothing of value to the story. It just sounds like poor writing.

I will admit that Birth By Sleep does the best job at integrating with the current story.
