Mine would have to be 1000 words (the English cutscene version) because I found the song to be very emotional especially during the flashback taking place between Lynne and Shuyin to the point where I was almost crying

I'm not sure about the titles... but I guess you can call it Locke's theme in the FFVI... also liked Cyan's theme too.. that one was chill.. Other than those two, I've been singing the FFVII battle theme in my head for the past couple of weeks since I started replaying it on the PS3.

Oh this is too hard, I love the Barthandelus battle theme from XIII (the only good one on the entire OST), VII's entire OST was fantastic too... I loved to modern/not 8-bit adaptations of those themes in Crisis Core, as well as the new stuff. And there is that choral theme from the Versus XIII trailer, as well as many, many others! How am I to choose?

I would like to add that while otherworld is my favorite ever song, i do think their are other masterpieces in the world of FF. Crisis cores Rock soundtrack "Rocked", and some of the classical melodies from FF9 were good (aka mount gulug), while i also think One Winged Angel is godly, a great piece of art in its own right.

its a truly hard question, but "to zanarkand" and "someday the dream will end" from FF X, "Price of freedom" form crisis core and FF theme are some of my favorite FF soundtracks

I'm going to assume we mean lyrical songs written for the games?

In that case, only one really comes to mind that blows my mind, and I consider it one of Nobuo Uematsu's, if not gaming in general, finest musical achievement. How unfortunate that it may fall in obscurity, considering the reception of the game it was written for...




Uematsu's contribution to Final Fantasy is immeasurable, and while fan-classics like Eyes On Me, Melodies of Life, and To Zanarkand are no doubt a testament of the man's genius into invoking much emotion with his compositions, this piece blows everything else done by the renowned composer out of the water, and still sends chills down my spine in a way that that few songs have since One-Winged Angel.

Answers is both a powerful and solemn composition, part-hymn and part-anthem: foreboding and yet hopeful. And it's my favorite "song" from Final Fantasy.

As far as orchestral themes are considered, some personal favorites include Those Who Fight Further, One-Winged Angel, You Are Not Alone, and The Dark Messenger.

My favourite would have to be ‘Fulfilled Desire’ from the Crisis Core soundtrack. I love it when composers make ‘compilation tracks’ that feature all the different themes throughout the game (like when Shimomura made 13th Anthology, made up of all the Organization XIII themes), as it's always very nostalgic listening to them and remembering the story of the game and all the memories you associate with it. Such tracks tend to be my favourites of any soundtrack, and this one in particular is probably my favourite from any Final Fantasy game.
