MiniGUP is back for the last episode of 2011 and they are gonna rock it out right! This week, Chloe is joined by Colin and by special guest, Jordan. Afterwards, the next stop is the main topic which is a retrospective look at 2011 and the games that the trio loved, hated, or were indifferent to! :O OMG...I was JUST listening to Jordan's last podcast appearance (MiniGUP 12 for 14th September, 2010) YESTERDAY in my car and then WTH? He just pops up out of thin air after a 14 month absence...(Either this was completely coincidence OR I'm cursed XD) It's great to hear Jordan back on the show even IF his next appearance isn't until next fall XP

But yeah it seems that 2011 has been a rather balanced year for gaming (more leaning towards great rather than okay) with a batch of titles that undying fangirls/boys just couldn't WAIT to get their hands on, PLUS the reveal of some niffty new consoles (PSV and Wii-U) and as always there has been some slight problems (PSN blackout) but it's all most likely history by now.

As for the PS4's possible future arrival...I agree that they should at least give the PS3 another 2 or 3 years before bringing a successor into the field but I'm sure that the end of the world theories are total BS anyway so I'm not gonna be impatient when it comes to the next generation...(if there is one)

Great show as always and I hope you guys have a great year in 2012...it will TRULY be a year worth celebrating

I feel that 2011 was a great year for gaming! It started off amazingly for me with Kingdom Hearts Re:coded, Bulletstorm, and Killzone 3. In the middle of the year (June-ish) I really enjoyed Shadows of the Damned and Infamous 2. After that I got Xenoblade Chronicles (which I have currently played for 237 hours total!) and now I'm just grinding through Skyward Sword.

Sure, there were a few duds this year (i.e. Homefront and freaking Duke Nukem), but overall I felt that the year had mostly strong titles, albeit strong titles that tended to be sequels.

I only wish that more Japanese developed games made it over to the West this year...

You'd be an idiot to say that this year sucked for gaming. The only excuse for that would be if you are young kid with no income and the only game you got was CoD: MW3 due to the hype. Anyway this year was epic for me. Bought 3 new consoles in less than a year (PSP,PS3,3DS) and I had to buy games for all those to keep me happy. So many games missed with my PSP and PS3 because I was a little late to jump on the bandwagon of both but the 3DS, I can keep a up with.

Valkyria Fans Unite!! I'll definitely put myself on the list of wanting either VC3 localization or VC4 for PS3 next year. Already 2012 is looking awesome. Vita, Tales of Graces, Tales of Abyss 3DS, Gravity Daze, Uncharted GA, FFX HD, ZoE HD, List goes on. I'm gonna be broke next year.

As for when I think PS4 will come out, I believe they arn't in a hurry. The only thing that will push them is if Xbox720 is announced.

Lastly, my feelings on 2011, pretty boring. I got a few new titles this year but none really lasted in longevity. I will say this though. With the lack of interesting games (for my personal taste), it has been a great year for killing the Pile of Shame. I'm really tempted to get Skyrim though...

This was a great way to end the year out guys. Now on the topic of 2011. Id say 2011 was a good and bad year for games (eg: modern warfare 3 being a bad highlight, sorry fans). Console wise personally, it was alright, I thought the 3ds was good despite its bad launch lineup.

For games 2011 was a great year. All the games worth mentioning have already been said that I can think of. As for 2012 games Sly 4 and NUNSG(Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations) are games that I'm excited for that haven't been mentioned.

I can see 2012 shaping up to be a great year...

As for this year...I'm going to be the one that says that this year kind of bored me. No great surprises (other than the Vita price point for me). As for games...Hm...not many that I wanted and my second most anticipated title (Uncharted 3) really was too boring for me. I hear so much hype for games, only to see it not live up to it general (Except for Skyrim from what I'm seeing...XD) So...all in all, it was okay for me...
