I was really hoping this 13th would bring us news of a collector's edition. I mean seriously!!! they've announced it for Europe, why not the US as well? Limited Editions seem to sell really well, and this is such an anticipated title. They did it for XII, why not for XIII Square Enix?
I for one will be soooooooo disappointed if I have to get the regular plastic-case bonus-less edition come this March 9th..... Last edited by camilomf; 01-14-2010 at 12:22 AM. Reason: spelling mistake |

I definitely think it will be announced at some point. Knowing how it goes, you guys will probably get something extra special, and Europe will fall back into being the ones who draw the short straw.

I sincerely hope you guys are right! And thanks for the warm welcome!
A couple of things... The UK did get a special edition of FF Crisis core that never made it to the US. Since that was the last FF release, I just worry that's a decision that SE will carry over to FF13.... it does seem a bit odd that they haven't announced it yet, seeing that all big retailers already have set up their pre-ordering schemes... Why would they be holding on to that info? As for the importing. I thought about that, but would it run on my US NTSC (60 gig) PS3? And even if it does, I've waited for this game long enough, I want it DAY 1!!!! I wonder how expensive and how much time importing would take. As for the US getting gaming's cream of the crop, I always thought Europe often gets better cover art, special EU exclusive deals (Little Big Planet anyone?), and don't get me started on SingStar support! Ha ha. Let's see what February brings for FFXIII US special edition news.... I just thought it was strange there was no forum thread on the subject. Am I the only FF geek who wants a limited edition copy? |

I also want to know what is included in the frigging thing! What is the point of announcing a Special Edition and then not saying what makes it so special? Grrrrrr I hate SE sometimes.
Edit: Correction: I hate SE almost all the time. :/

@Anonjel - I certainly haven't heard that the FF XIII PS3 is getting any further than Japan, except for imports. I expect that there probably will be a FF XIII special edition worldwide.

Thanks for the replies you guys!
And Anongel, I don't think Limited Editions were common before FFXII... They're so common this generation though, especially for AAA titles. It's true that the UK also got a special tin edition of New Super Mario WII, so maybe the limited edition trend is stronger in Europe. If what Omen has said about PS3 worldwide compatibility (I hope so), and they don't offer a limited edition version here in the US, I think I'll bite the bullet and ask for a friend in London to pick it up for me day one and ship XTRA FAST delivery!!! I'll just have to wait for the days it takes to arrive... I do still hope they release it in the US though! SQUEENIX & GAMESTOP can you hear us??? |
