Images released of a Final Fantasy X Sequel - Gaming Union Forums

Square-Enix released some hefty books detailing a lot of the work that has gone into Final Fantasy XIII's development.
Some of the book is now finding it's way onto the internet with scans of what seems to be a Final Fantasy X game (yes X) that was on the PS2 before being scrapped.
They show a battle system that is very similar to FF XIII's current system as well as images of Rikku & Yuna.

I for one am happy with the lovely HD graphics that XIII has

Not a X sequel! XD They were just using the character models for X and stuff because the characters for XIII weren't finalized. That's what I heard anyway.

I would buy a X - 3 xD cause imo X-2 wasnt that bad after all.

Months before the game was released they talked about using the characters from X because the models were available and easy to imprint for usage. It was done up in an interview. Since the character models were not done, imprinting old models is a lot easier to test a battle system, ya?

Yea, I believe they are images of what Final Fantasy XIII was going to look like on the PS2. They were just using Yuna and Rikku as placeholders.

The images are from the Final Fantasy XIII Ultimania guide, I think.

I looked into it more *Facepalm/Headdesk* and you're right. It was XIII's early development just with Yuna & Rikku.
Still some cool images of early development work. You don't normally see things like that, especially from Square.

Even if it's not real, I'd love a X sequel if it was brought up to today's standards. XIII looked very nice. Isn't there news about a X movie?
