Default Questions For The Last Remnant Director

Hi guys,

Just to let you know that I have the opportunity to get some questions to the director of The Last Remnant; Hiroshi Takai. So if you have anything you wish to know about the game, post your questions below and I'll pass them on.

Oh yea, no questions about the PS3/PC versions please unless they're wisely worded.

Thanks!

Default Language option

damn, I wanted to ask a PS3 ver. question too.
Well, I'll ask it anyways just in case.

Is there going to be a Japanese language option available in the PS3 version?

Thanks

I'd like to know what made him decide to include the SaGa team in the development in this game and whether or not the SaGa team will be working on another game soon. :P Other than that, just praise for the game. I really enjoy it and I liked it more than I thought I would.

Hi, i spent 50 h on Last remnant, the first thing all my respect for Hiroshi Takai, Square Enix, and Ronin90. Well....the most important question: they tested the game before release? why framerate drops, and texture pop in. It had a lot of potential, mostly because of the new gameplay, but it lack so many...the same with Infinite undiscovery. One common problem, the main quest par example, i dont now where to go, etc ...in the Final Fantasy 12 you have the well done map, but here nothing. I mean the last 2 games for 360 dont have soul in them, the staff from S Enix lack something, they dont have the determination, i dont know. Also for the Last remnant: too much backtracking, too much rely on rar items, from rare monsters, and is anooying to go ON FOOT the same places, believe me, the game dont have a checkpoint, if you die - bad luck, start from last save.
The only advise i can give for Mr Hiroshi and S Enix: how come Eternal sonata is ok??
how come Lost odyssey utilise Unreal 3 much better?how come others can do the right game for us, the players. Look back a little on the time you are enjoy to create the games, maybe there is the answer.

Question A very polite question

I have a question about the battle system.
I was wondering if they could have made it so the player could give commands to the union more freely?
Like giving the player control over which command and when to use it, instead of having the AI selecting the commands randomly?

May I ask a very polite question about the other versions?
Will the problems with the frame-rate and slowdowns be resolved for the other versions?

EDIT:

After giving it some thought, there's one more question I'd like to ask.
Even though if there are many quests throughout the game, the story and characters seem to have been developed pretty hastily. Wouldn't have been better if the game was more balanced and there were less quests and a better developed story and characters?

I would like to know why the chose to use the Unreal Engine 3. It is a very dated engine and it is most likely the reason the game has such bad frame rate and pop in issues as every other game that uses it has these issues even the ones Epic themselves make. It boggles my mind they didn't use the Crystal Tools engine unless the team currently working with it would not allow it or it wasn't finished.

Default Did you rush the game development?

There are an extreme amount of load screens, poor frame rates, and over use of maps to navigate the towns. The game feels unfinished. Do you feel that the game was finished?

Will there be a patch to address all the technical issues listed. (Bad Frame Rates etc). (I know I should not ask about the PS3 version but I really want to know.) Will these technical issues be addressed for the PS3 version. And yes, please add the Japanese Language option for the PS3 version. THanks

Some good questions so far, thanks guys.

I think we'll probably send them off on Sunday, so if you think of any more questions between now and then, feel free to post them.
