Although I LOVE Bastion, Amnesia is one of those games that just does exactly what it's expected to do.. and it does it perfectly to the point where Amnesia has become a household name.. one that every gamer is slightly afraid to play but loves to talk about. I was really surprised at how fast Amnesia rose in popularity. I remember one of my friends talked to me about it on the train coming home from Uni and like two days later everyone pretty much knew about it.

Are we ignoring the fact that some of these games were released before 2011?

Anyway, ignoring the shoo-in for Minecraft, I've had a lot of fun with Trine 2 & VVVVVV this year.

I really had a good time with Amnesia. I typically don't play games that are meant to be "scary," but I'm glad that I tried this one out. All of the recommendations it has gotten are definately well deserved.
