I returned from India this morning. I got about $2k for my birthday and thread ceremony (a sort of bar mitzvah). Combined of course. I've already preordered FFXII-2. But I really want Skyrim, but my dad forbids it. Also, I might buy an oboe reed to try my hand at my band teacher's oboe, so I might learn a new instrument.

You know, it's cool that you got 2k monies, but I am going to give you some pro-advice. When your gifts start approaching the income level some people make in a month, treat it like it's your own private finance, and just leave the amount out.
