I forgot to mention how weird Chocolina is. Her outfit bugs me... xD

Agreed. I don't like Chocolina. Outfit was tasteless and her phrases were annoying. I miss moogle merchants. Least with Mogs it's less question why they are everywhere. The teleporting bird lady.. now that's just creepy.

I personally loved the demo.

FFXIII was far from perfect for me. My issues were the linearity (which was basically because of the story). The lack of Money and Towns (which was also basically because of the story). After playing through the game 2x in order to fully understand what was going on. My final thought is that the story was weak. Its actually a really good piece of mythology but it was poorly executed. I loved FFXIII and appreciated it for what it was.

The demo was good. Aside from the fact that I\'m still pretty disappointed that SE could not pull out at least 3 human party characters.

1. Building the Ideal monster will be fun and engaging for each role. (Though I still feel a little bit constricted when creating Paradims)
2. Though I will miss some CGI goodness the Cinematic Sequences are fun and engaging (Honestly I thought there were too much going on in some of the FFXIII to take it all in.)
3. Yay for Sidequests.
4. Random battles are never good. (Monster farming will be tedious.)
5. I Love Feral Links... Feels so engaging.

I just pray people give it a chance.

I've finished playing the demo a few hours ago. Squeenix installed quite a few innovations which will change the game's possibilities - it will still be linear in a way that it'll have a goal which to work towards (defeat the big baddie, as always) - just the ways to get there will be different. It was fun to press the buttons and suddenly find out there's a "Mog-scan-field" which triggers by pressing R1 and reveals treasures... and, well, enemies. The difficulty is appropriate - I just hope that they haven't integrated too many extras so the game will get confuzzled. From what I've seen, I like it.

It's a "piggy-kitty". XD

While sitting bored at home the other day, I started lean towards getting FF13-2. With release dates fluctuating, there's really nothing else to be playing for a while. Abyss is mid February, Graces in March, and Vita is on hold til it has 3 solid titles I want on it. So for home consoling, I'm pretty much bored til March. (He says as he ignores his crying pile of shame) Still thinking on it.. ugh.. Just as bad as my debating getting Corpse Party (I despise digital only)

Okay, yeah that did make me chuckle. Girl asking about the Mog, "We named him Piggy-Kitty." I'm glad they can at least laugh at themselves. Especially how horrid it turned out hehe.

I liked the demo, played it for about 2.5 hours. I think they successfully corrected some issues that XIII had, like the slow growth system and not gaining money every battle. Still, at least for me, the demo felt... weird. It took me some time to nail the reason, and I finally concluded a simple fact: they overdid it. Example: the growth rate was incredibly slow and those caps were annoying, however, the Crystarium\'s design was simply beautiful and interesting. Instead of leaving the design as it was, they changed it into this single Crystarium containing every character and monster and \"constellations\" depending on which character you chose as well as a nonsense and confusing zoom on the next node so that you can\'t see all your nodes but only the next one. They overdid it. Too many unnecessary changes.

The monster system is really cool. It is quite useful and interesting. Despite that, the party feels composed of two characters instead of the three characters in XIII. The reason is the plot, which I think would\'ve been better if the good, old characters we all love and enjoy had been added to the party. In this game, apparently we have only two real characters available and an additional slot for some monster which, no matter how cool it may be, it will never be a character with a personality.

I do appreciate the fact that Square listened to the opinions and corrected the problems, but I\'m afraid they made the same mistake they always make: not asking their fans exactly what would we suggest be corrected and what is perfect as it is. I bet we\'d prefer Hope or even Snow over that Moogle. I bet we\'d prefer the Moogle being able to get into the party rather than it being Serah\'s weapon (which is too Japanese for my taste. Couldn\'t she get an actual weapon and avoid its weaponifying traits? I love moogles, but having it turn into a weapon with pink \"poof!\" is just too much I think). Also, why couldn\'t they add the other characters into the plot as well? (I haven\'t played the full game, but at least that\'s what it seems like). Oh well. I guess we\'ll never know what exactly is going on inside those Japanese minds of theirs.

All in all, this game seems interesting. It would be a great game by its own right. However, I think that the \"XIII\" on its \"XIII-2\" weighs far too much for its own good. I feel like it somehow manages to feel inferior to its predecessor.

At least that\'s what I felt.

I liked the demo overall, although the battles felt very slow compared to XIII - even with haste.
Maybe that's just due to me being used to Lightning's ridiculously fast ATB charging.

I personally think that Square have gone too far with the visual effects. XIII was a very flashy game but it never got overwhelming due to the camera usually keeping its distance.
XIII-2, from what I've seen, seems to have turned up the flashiness and got the camera more involved - especially in the cinematic battle sequences.
I noticed it most in the start of trailer at the end of the demo when Lightning is fighting Caius. You could barely see the button prompts due to all the effects and the camera flying all over the place.
I know it's very much in the visual style of XIII but I think they could tone it down slightly and it would be easier on the eyes and probably just as good.

One day I shall rule the Universe.

Enough said.
