The answer to that depends on the context of which you are asking: Zero as in the character of which the name is taken from is a robot being whom is of a type of robot known as a reploid whom are built to be able to think, feel, and life on their own. Zero himself is what is known as a Maverick Hunter, who takes and deals with reploids who have turned against the humans.

I was maybe 6 at the time when I first got introduced to Megaman, I had borrowed the original on NES from a friend and fell in love with it, even if I didn't get very far LOL
as for how Zero appealed to me, I think the main reason was the sword (I like swords)

Well, as far as Asian food goes, I've only ever eaten chinese food. That being said, I love fried rice, chow mein, potstickers, sweet and sour pork, mongolian beef, and many other dishes you can get at a good chinese restaurant

I like Axl in terms of a character. When it comes to gameplay though, he barely adds anything.
In X7, he's practically useless save for a small number of points within the game that you have to use his shape shifting ability to get an item
I have yet to play X8, so I can't say for sure about his usefulness, or lack there of there, (though I expect it's the same thing as X7, him being just a weaker version of X really)
In Command Mission, he seemed the most useful... (more about this in the spoiler tags, beware if you have not played Command Mission)
