Quote:Although they haven't produced bucket loads of original IPs in their lifetime, Naughty Dog has still become a staple brand within the game industry. The IPs they've created have offered gamers the very best in terms of creativity and graphics and you'll be pushed to find someone who will disagree. With Crash Bandicoot, Jax and Daxter, and, of course, the Uncharted series under their belt, many would say Naughty Dog has got it made. In honor of the recent announcement of the Last of Us, we're taking time out to focus on what makes Naughty Dog such an excellent developer and how the brand got started.

Great write up! I'm a total history buff, so I love reading about developer histories.

Jak and Daxter is my favorite ND franchise by far. Deep down, in my heart of hearts, I hope they revisit the series in the future... but I doubt that will ever happen.

Indeed...While their IP supply isn't as big as some developers, they've demonstrated that quality over quantity in their products is indeed one of their strong points.

As much as i love naughty dog, i won't be playing The Last of Us.... i don't do zombies.... at all. However the fact that in this age of consoles, with such awesome technology about, i still get out my ps2 and play the original PS version of crash bandicoot, well, that has to say something about the quality of the game, and the brand.

Have to say that breaking out a bit of Crash is great if I'm feeling nostalgic. Never played the second one, though I have 1 and 3 downloaded from the PSN store.

I remember having the demo for Crash Team Racing as well, really enjoyed that, might be worth buying.

Very true. And this was an excellent article and it was nice to read it too. When you think about it, Naughty Dog really go a long way, and they've created several titles that soon became instant classics. And iirc, they're pretty good when it comes to what the gamers and fans want.

My first couple of videogames ever were Crash and Spyro, and I loved them very much. Managed to play the first Jak and Daxter which was also fun too. Now i just gotta get the chance to play Uncharted... Tongue

Naughty Dog is responsible for my interest in video games. I was in a walmart years ago and I was walking through the electronics department when I saw this little orange dude on the screen with blue shorts. I picked up the controller and was instantly having fun. a few months later I had a PS1 and a copy of Crash Bandicoot 2.

To this day they are still my favorite developer and I still go and play any and all of their previous games on a regular basis.

I. love. Naughty Dog.
