Square Enix Members have released a video interview with Final Fantasy XIII-2 Producer Yoshinori Kitase and Director Motomu Toriyama where the duo talk about the reception and what it was like developing the game. They also touch on the topic of downloadable content.

Kitase first noted that the team's key objective was to address the concerns fans had with Final Fantasy XIII, thus leading them to craft a more open and player driven experience.

The producer also mentioned that they have more unannounced DLC lined up in addition to the planned boss battles, costumes and episodic content. Currently, fans can get access to a number of pre-order bonuses depending on where they make their purchase, including the Omega Coliseum boss from Amazon, Serah's Genji Bow and Summoner Garb from GameStop, the -Episode I- Novella from BestBuy and the Battle of Valhalla poster from Walmart.

So long as it\'s optional, fun content that provides more stuff to do without being crucial or even really influencial on the game experience, I\'m a huge fan of DLC. Additional bosses to fight, monsters to catch, and costumes to wear is a great use of the system. More power to them if that\'s the direction they\'re going.

It says that she'll be available for your party after you beat her at the coliseum, like some monsters and bosses like Omega are. Does this mean lightning will be available as a third party member in the monster slot? I mean, you get her the same way that you get Omega.
I'm excited about the other forms of media they're talking about using in that story too. Playing as Chocolina might feel silly in the game but a manga or Last Order-esque anime explaining her story in more detail would be neat. Who knows though, they could give her a really fun mini-game and explain her story in a DLC package.

It's nice to see Square's attempting to make a go of the DLC, it would definitely be a way to extend the play time of XIII-2 but at the same time, it's a money grab, yes I do understand, they are a business after all. As long as it's content that flushes out the story I will be happy, just as long as it's not too expensive. (and maybe some costumes from previous FF's).
