I'm good. I'm just being objective. Sorry if my previous post sounded mean-spirited Smile

I have to agree with a lot of your points in this review. However I’m less critical on the time travel stuff. No matter how you slice it, every time travel based story is flawed. I just take it for what it is. Overall I enjoy this game a lot. My biggest surprises was that Hope was awesome, Pet system was actually fun and unobtrusive, and even with his bad design Mog grew on me (spamming L1 is cute~).

Regarding music, I’m glad I’m not alone on this one. Some of the tracks didn’t fit. The music for boss battles, while having a decent tune, the vocals were so jarring I had to turn down my sound. It’s sad because it brings you out of the experience and music is always been a factor for immersion in the FF worlds. While the amount of tracks seemed minimal as some are rehashed tunes with different beat counts, there’s a few keepers. Caius’s Theme, Countless Partings, Plains of Eternity, Paradox, Song of the Farseers etc.

As far as graphics, they did a great job for realtime rendering. The animation in the face was great. The backdrops were breathtaking. Environments were well crafted. However shadowing issues and civilians walking through talking players while they were talking was goofy. I also had some flashing lighting in a couple areas that gave me a headache (hope they patch it..). However those two issues were minor.

The gameplay takes the cake though. The combat is fun and addicting as FF13. While at first I didn’t like the pet system, I do have to say building my brick of a Sentinel was fun. He’s so beefy. The new wounding aspect adds a whole new degree of challenge as well as some nasty bosses. Some bosses like the guarding one in the invaded town of Academia were exilerating and challenging to juggle certain aspects.

I’ll admit Serah feels out of place besides the beginning and ending. Throughout a good chunk of the game though, the story loses it’s substance and you’re left wondering if there will be a story. Though at the final chapter it snagged me up again and I’m rather liking it’s conclusion as well as how much it in fact connects to the original 13.

Pros: Amazing/Addictive Gameplay, Good Overall Story, More Open Feel, Great Visuals, Pet Building is Fun, Some Fun Dialog, Characters Are Likeable, Tons of Side-Questing, TimeTravel Provides Interesting Outcomes
Cons: Some Music Takes From The Immersion, Clock Puzzles Are Painful, Story Pacing Off, Auto-Save Doesn’t, 2 Destinations Have Subtle Lighting Issues, Pointless Dialog Choosing Segments.

Even though I am only 3 hours into the game, I already feel that Serah's character isn't nearly endearing enough to play a leading role in the story. On the other hand, I find myself liking Noel more and more the farther along I go.

And the battles are great, just like before.

Completely agree with you. In my opinion, Serah doesnt stand out as the protagonist enough. The one thing that I am very upset about this game was that The music was absolutely terrible, and the Interaction Dialogue thing was a pain for me (having to google translet them into Japanese to understand what it meant.)

Well... If you compare these music\'s with Final Fantasy XIII, I believe we can all say FFXIII music was much better than it\'s sequel. I don\'t mean to be apprehensive on it, It\'s just... you tend to compare to the other one which makes XIII-2\'s music sound bad.

Well when you word it as "quite fun at times" then no you're not alone. Like I said earlier, I enjoyed quite a few tracks, the problem was the many tracks that pulled me away from the experience and immersion just because they didn't fit.

But don't let it bother you. The thing with music is that it's so broad in taste and favor that it's hard to please everyone.

I have a question, On all the apostrophes, I see either a square with a question mark replacing it, or there is a dash before it. Is anyone else having these same problems?
