Suffice it to say, you guys rocked the FF13 entries like pros. The editing team is trying to keep up, so great work! We want to keep the momentum going by moving onto our next game: FF9!

For those of you who haven't heard, we are in the process of redesigning the FFU website and it's already looking good. However, the site will need content and the Character Database is a HUGE part of that. We're gonna be getting it up to snuff here.

That's where you guys come in. We want you guys to be able to create the character entries for our database. These entries will be your editorial creation and you'll be credited on the site having written it! This will be a piece of journalism that, as long as the site is active, you will be able to point to as a professional piece of work you've done!

So far, we've done FF13, and we're moving things along with Final Fantasy IX (9)! Below, you'll find a list of the characters we need entries for. Here's how this will work.

1. Download this ZIP file that contains 2 documents: A.) a sample document of what a character entry from you needs to look like. B.) a blank template document for you to fill in all the necessary information.

2. Let me know what character/s you would like to write up. Give your top 1-3 choices. I will assign characters to you based on your desires. In most cases, characters will be given on first come-first serve basis.

3. When you receive your assignment (you will see what you're assigned on the list below), you will have 1 week (7 days) from when it's assigned to send your entry to me (email it to me - brian@gamingunion.net ). If you don't send it in by that deadline, you'll lose the character and someone else will be able to take it.

4. We will review it and do one of 3 things: 1.) Approve it 2.) Make edit suggestions and send it back to you to fix up 3.) Deny the entry all together (only in extreme cases).

5. If you're approved, you're done with that character and can move on to another if you desire. If you are asked to edit your entry, then you will have 5 days to edit and send it back.

And that's it! Get your requests in now!

FAQ:

- How much detail should we go into their stories?
As much detail as you can. 9 has been out long enough that spoilers are not a problem. This is meant to be as informative as possible

- The Katakana code site doesn't give me the characters I need, what do I do?
If the site doesn't work, then copy and paste the Katakana you're working from into the document.

- Should I reference summon/boss counterparts from other titles under "Games Appeared In"?
Yes. For characters, bosses, and summons that appear in other games, they need to be documented in your entry. However, they only need to be documented IF their presence plays a defining role in the story of the game.

- How do I do the pronunciation?
Think like you're first learning to spell and sounding the word out. Spell it like you would if you didn't know how to spell it already.

I'm thinking of skipping this one, Final Fantasy 9 is a game that I played but I don't remember much of it. I can't do a database on characters I don't remember that well and plus I have to concentrate on my midterms for the next few weeks. I'll be aboard on the next Database project for sure.
