Final Fantasy X HD: A Remaster, Not Remake

Wait, what? I thought it had been announced that it was a remake... DARN IT SQUARE! MAKE UP YOUR MIND!

I think a lot of us will be disappointed because chances are, it will be the same old game. It'll get the HD treatment obviously, just like the other PS2 games that were remastered for the PS3. I was really hoping that they could add another feature or two, but adding something to the game is considered remaking the whole thing. If we do get something else from the remastered version, it's probably gonna be gravy and over the top. I wish they'll have an online options for blitzball though where there are online leagues. That's the only thing that I really want to be added in the game.

Unless someone here works for Square, we really know nothing. All this information out there online like from gaming sites are glimpses from what they caught at an E3 event. Basically, they don't know anything yet and it means nothing.

I'm glad it is just a remaster. If Square wants to completely remake something I think they should go for a title that is a bit older and would benefit more from a complete graphical rebuild. I'd love to see a complete graphical overhaul of FFVI or even FF Tactics.

Imagine how awesome an FF tactics remake would be if it had the look of Valkyria Chronicles! GAH!

It was never announced to be a remake...

Though a remake could be nice. This game looks great emulated in HD on a PC, so a HD remaster with hopefully fullHD cutscenes will be amazing!

x is my fav game, and that\'s the problem. I\'ve played through it so many times a remaster isn\'t going to make it that much more interesting. I was looking forward to a few extra bits to make it worthwhile. Not sure i\'d shell out full price for something i\'ve already got... the graphics was never an issue for me....

If that\'s the case, the majority of the Western media wouldn\'t be posting up this story as clarification.

I believe I said at the time though, probably a mistranslation. We\'ve also heard absolutely nothing about Type-0 since the supposed announcement of a Western release either.

Likewise. I enjoyed FFX and was hoping for a few more new features. HD and trophies might not be enough for me to consider buying it.

While my friend will be excited to hear this, 10 was honestly a little boring to me, yes it was a good story, it\'s just comparing it to previous Final Fantasies such as 6 or 9 (my personal favourites) it just felt like it took out a large amount of the exploring. Also I was not a fan of the side-quests such as the Blitzball.
