On one of the episode of final fantasy union you guys keep mispronouncing a final fantasy character name. From Final Fantasy X TidusExclamation. If you guys play Dissidia you can hear his correct name pronunciation or YouTube of course.

Love the show

It's an ongoing joke on the show for the guys to mispronounce character names...

yea, it's pretty much common knowledge that his name is pronounced Tee-Duhs these days, but it's kinda funny that they mispronounce some names these days (not to mention that there are people who are so set in their ways about certain names that they refuse to say it any other way).

It sounds better as Tidus, as in Tidal Wave.

Although in recent podcasts I have been noticing Noel's name being pronounced incorrectly.

It's Noel, not No El >.<

Since the player gets to name the main character in FFX (as Square apparently hadn't realized that nameable characters don't work quite as well in games with voice acting) I just named him "Titus". Smile

I always said Tomato as Tomato. Not Tomato like some people do...

Why so serious?

Anyhow, glad you like the show Mr.Dark. Hope you can stick around and join in the forum conversations ^_^

Bah, pronunciation debates always end the same way - agreeing to disagree Tongue I've always pronounced various FF words in a certain way and it's not always the same as it's pronounced when spoken (at least, in a game's narration) so I just cringe the first couple of times then put up with it.

I've always pronounced Tidus as 'tide us' anyway. Other cases include chocobo (I pronounce the 'choco' the same as chocolate) and Bahamut (I pronounce it 'bah-hah-mut', not 'bah-hamut')

That's okay. I still prefer to pronounce Tifa as "Tif-fa" rather than "Tee-fa", even though the latter to supposed to be the correct pronunciation. Still catch myself saying "Yuff-fie" instead of the proper "You-fie", too.

It doesn't matter how they pronounce it as long as the audience knows which character there talking about that's all that matters. I pronounce Tidus as "Ty-dus", there is nothing wrong with that.

They are in there right to pronounce names the way they want, knowing those guys they will still keep on doing there thing.
