So glad I read this news, GAME didn't even inform me that they had cancelled my special edition order of Mass Effect 3.

How can this happen? It's just... Wow. Things must be worse for GAME than it appears.

Word is that they're going bust really. They don't have the money to buy EA games to sell, even though they had the exclusive rights to sell the ME3 collector's edition in the UK, and outsourcing them all will have left a lot of people unhappy as they all sold out within about 7 hours. It is bad for GAME, as this means they have reached the limit of credit with their investors, meaning that they must be in a hell of a large amount of debt.

Edit: GAME announced last week that they are to close 35 stores, backing up the argument that they are in deep financial doo-doo.
