Also, you missed a few characters, like Captain Anderson... I can't remember his name right now, but that dude that played Morpheus in the Matrix would be perfect for him. And IMHO, Johnny Depp for Shepard.

My favorite part is whenever I think of 'that dude from the matrix' in any film, I just think Morpheus. It's way easier to remember, and honestly probably cooler than whatever his real name is anyway.

ah k! awesome! I'll have to check it out!! Thanks! Big Grin

@Martolives - haha his name I believe is Laurence Fishburne. My mom actually saw him once when she was visiting NYC. He was staying at the hotel that she and her boyfriend were Smile

ALSO, special fun fact, one of Laurence's first jobs on TV, was on the show Pee-Wee's Playhouse Smile

Meeeeeh...

Not sure how I feel about this list. Willem Dafoe as Garrus is weird.

I have yet to see The Help, yet I don't feel Bryce Dallas Howard has the "Ripley factor" that could really justify casting her as a "hard but fair" Shepard, and that's not even going into question whether or not your writer director wants Shepard to be leaning more towards the Paragon edge of the spectrum. Charlize Theron, Claire Danes, Gina Carano, Naomi Watts, Angelina Jolie, Scarlett Johanson, Carrie Ann Moss (a bit old now), Radha Mitchell - these are women that I can tap more into the "tough as nails" aspect of such a Shepard Lauren is hinting towards. Not Howard, with all due respect. There's stubborn tough and there's "I know what we're up against and you should listen to me" tough

Eh, I know everyone's a bit iffy about Willem Dafoe but you might just be thinking of him in his more "evil" "villain roles". I mean, show the guy some respect. The dude has been acting for years and years... you'd think he's learned now how to take direction and listen to his director/research, you silly people Tongue

As for the actresses you named.. i just feel as though they're just too predictable you know?.. Angelina Jolie, i've gotten tired of because she's so type cast. Wanted, Salt, Tomb Raider, and so on.. it's so overdone. Also she's gotten a bit old.. no matter how much makeup she puts on, she can't hide that. Charlize Theron is a bit too old as well. I've also used her very recently in one of my other cast lists. Carrie Ann Moss DEFINITELY too old. but thus, that's an issue i deal with a lot in these cast lists as I'm not overly familiar with a lot of the younger generation. Claire Danes is a gentle little butterfly. See her in films like Romeo + Juliet.. she's so sweet and innocent looking I don't know if I'd take her seriously. Naomi Watts maybe.. not sure who Radha Mitchell is though. but definitely watch The Help. I highly suggest it. Not only for the cast list's sake but in general.

EDIT - ahh k. Radha is from the Silent Hill film... eh, i feel like that would be a bit too type cast as well. I would settle maybe.. but she wouldn't be my first choice.

Watch the English dub of Princess Mononoke and at least the pilot of Homeland. Danes an edge to her, albeit not one that people often utilize like Jolie.

I believe typecasting actors into roles they are known in is forgivable if the actor is particularly good in that type of role. While both Hugo Weaving has not done exclusively villains in his line of work, he is primarily cast as villains because he can nail them rather well. Same with Anthony Hopkins, even though he's done his fair share of non-villainous roles outside of Hannibal Lector, for example. I will agree that Jolie has been quite saturated in the film industry, but studios love a recognizable star for a sales vehicle. However, while this is true, we can't fully deny that Jolie can act both serious and tantalizing and be good at both, and as a result, getting roles coming her way. So it;s understandable that directors/producers have a list of usual suspects they go to when they want to fill roles, but at least many do still take chances with potential new hot talents like Rooney Mara and even recently Emma Watson.

With that said, while I can understand why you want to cast Dafoe in a role outside his usual schtick, I don't think Garrus would cut it. Garrus does have a gnarled rasp in his speech patterns, I think Dafoe sounds a bit too crusty. Even then, you can easily cast anyone in a Taurion or Krogan role and then just plae filters (which was the case with Steve Blum as Grunt in Mass Effect 2) and you'd have the actors just act normally, which could almost boot Michael Clarke Duncan out of this list.

A great lis. MaleShep is very dear to me, and I've always pictured (if not the obvious Mark Vanderloo, who is not an actor) him as Sam Worthington. Like he was in Terminator - Salvation. He looks just like him <3 And for Kaidan, who I love dearly, is for me maybe Karl Urban. I KNOW he doesn't look like Kaidan, but he has the same sweet hunky guy vibe.
