That is a topic that has been coming up in conversations. I could go into great detail on what this topic means, basically there is this man named Joseph Kony who has been kidnapping children for over 20 years until the amount of children kidnapped accumulates 30,000. The male children were made to solider and the females were forced to become sex slaves This topic goes into greater detail that I can not explain because it's something you have to see and hear for yourself. There is a video that is almost 30 minutes long and it will help you understand this topic even more. I think by watching this video those 30 minutes won't be wasted and hopefully you will have an emotional attachment to this topic by the end of the video.





If you want to support this cause then do some research on this cause before blindly supporting this cause. I'm not saying you should not support the cause but at least know the history of "Invisible Children" because the person who owns this company makes $80-100K a year from a non-profit organization seems a little sketching if you ask me.

There are two sides to this coin. The first side is there is a man named KONY, and some kids that have been kidnapped, and all of the west and east will change their facebook pictures and KONY will get arrested and the children will live happily ever after. Or so we like to believe.

If only politics were as easy as an engrossing Facebook meme.

Search Invisible Child Inc, look for real facts, then decide weither or not you want to spread this idea around.

The second side of the coin:

Donate money and make three Americans richer, fund their video company, and travel.
Allow them to fund the Ugandan Militia (war criminals)
Put more guns in the hands of youth
Bring more guns to this conflict
If you donate 10$, only 3$ leaves the pockets of these three American dudes.

I had wondered how long this would take to surface on these forums. I don't know, for the reasons Kioran has already mentioned, I am still dubious of this cause. I'm going to wait for things to iron out a little before pledging my fuller support.

Offtopic.. but I very much dislike videos where people delete every single pause in their talking....... drives me crazy... hate it...

To continue my negativity, I have to agree with Kioran's comment about Facebook memes. I think there are too many lazy people in this world that like to believe they are doing their part in the world by changing facebook pictures, tweeting, and changing avatars. I don't know why people don't just go out and do something about it anymore.

Here locally, we do outreaches.. I'm not sure how we'd get anything done just posting about the need.

The video they made is just so misleading. They act like no one is doing anything to stop it. There are like 4 different surrounding armies that have been trying to catch him for a while now, too. So I mean, the problem is being addressed, I don't see how funding a government that has abducted and killed more people than Kony, is going to help the situation.

Around the world, every 3.1 seconds someone dies from a waterborne illness, every 5 seconds a child dies from hunger. I could go on.
There are more "invisible children" in this world than you realize, there are many in your own backyard (country, there aren't really children in your yard...unless their is...). Lets not send more arms to Africa.
