I don\'t really see a problem with the story DLC at all. I haven\'t completed the game, but at my current rate, it should be 50+ hours total to complete the game 100%, which is far more than most games I\'ve played this generation (exceptions being the original XIII and Skyrim). As such, I\'m happy to pay for any extra content, since I\'ve definitely got my money\'s worth from the game excluding DLC.

DLC is one of those things that can be easily abused. If SE isn\'t careful they may just do that. I don\'t mind as long as it is fairly priced and adds a lot to the story.

I\'m really liking the DLC contents. I think the true ending of the story, if there\'s gonna be one, needs to be free, but those scenarios like Sazh one and the Lightning one that\'s gonna come out soon are really nice touches, although I think they should be cheaper, since they\'re part of the story.

I love the Coliseum battles and new costumes! Imma buy them all, no matter what comes out (unless it\'s something offensive), but I\'m not buying any weapons... Anyways, DLCs are a way to make the game last longer, and if used well, they can be a great addition.

What's the difference if they put the Content on the disk to later be Paid/Unlocked or just hold onto it for you to Pay/Download later? Either way it was produced during it's development process.

Sure, it doesn't magically appear, but what's new? Games have been developed for many years and managed to release ALL of their content at release date. They managed to live without cutting content to sell later via download. You make it sound as if side quests and unlockables are suddenly commodities that they need to pawn separately all of a sudden.

Shoot, could you imagine all of Golden Saucer being withheld from FF7 and required to be paid DLC? Or Yuffie being a DLC character? It's just sad to me.

Diavolo, I messed up the post again! I went to the community thing but, I couldnt find the article thread.

First of all, how do you know if the DLC content was produce during the development of the main game? Not calling you a liar but, I would like to know how you know that because you seem very certain of it.

Regardless of when the content was made lets work under the assumption that the DLC was skimmed from the game for a second here. How Square is handling DLC is smart. Deliver a full game that does not disappoint in terms of content but, skim some of that content then sell it separately to make as much money as possible.

But what if Square isnt being all evil on us? In that case, they are continuing the life of XIII-2 by injecting little pieces to the game and hopefully long narratives (maybe Light\'s DLC). That ensures that we keep playing it and enjoying it longer. I am on board with that.

At the end of the day consumers speak with their wallets, and consumers are saying loudly, \"Yes, bring on more DLC.\"

Hope this comment gets messed up....

"Fool, prate not to me about covenants. There can be no covenants between men and lions, wolves and lambs can never be of one mind, but hate each other out and out an through. Therefore there can be no understanding between you and me, nor may there be any covenants between us, till one or other shall fall and glut grim Ares with his life's blood."

Sorry to hear you're still having trouble finding the thread. As for how I know is simply a mixture of all the press releases, screenshots, and videos SquareEnix gave us over the time span of FF13-2's development. That coupled with the fact that 3 of said DLCs were released for sale day one of the games release (heh). If you're really interested, a good bit of said content was posted in older articles here. If not, I'm sorry but I'm really not into searching for each bit of detail. So you can either take my word for it or just disregard my comments.

Anyhow, to save beating the dead horse that I've already done did, I'll leave it at that. It's my opinion based on my perspective and I think I've expressed that enough. And I appreciate you're voicing of another side to it that I agree a good bit of. ^_^

the Current DLC\'s are awesome, they extend the game even more, I\'m almost finished the main story, and I\'m on the dlc not beating the game yet.
nabaat\'s one being super hard to get.
i\'d like a Snow DLC where the player plays as snow and from the point where he leaves to find lighting and top to the point where he meets up with noel/searh.

it\'d be interesting to see his story how he got up to the Sunleith area.

Of course what you're saying isn't actually true. Final Fantasy 7 specifically had a lot of content cut to meet the release dates. The Japanese version didn't get the weapons. Even more was changed and added to the International Version which we never really got in the United States. In those days, this content would have never been available if it had to be cut. Now it can be added later and even planned for.

I think the DLC isn't bad, But why isn't Sazh in the main game? I feel the need to use him (I got the DLC) just because its Sazh... Then when they mention him (rarely) I feel special. :3

That's true, to a point.

In Final Fantasy VII's case, there was the whole rumour about being able to revive Aeris, but they weren't able to produce a fourth disc so they had to cut it. The things they added to the International Version (which were also shoved in with the European release) weren't game changers, they were just nice little extras. It's the same with Final Fantasy X. I don't see many North Americans complaining because they didn't get to fight against Penance.

As far as I'm aware, none of the International Versions, aside from Final Fantasy X-2 + Last Mission, have done anything with the story. Final Fantasy XII was the one that brought the most to the table with the Zodiac system, but the story wasn't changed in any way.
