Coraline.
Stop-Motion in general is eerie, but with the kind of elements that Coraline had?
x10.
Great, great film. Especially in 3D. So much work they did for it, and it really paid off.
I was the most creeped out when the movie started.
You have no idea what is going to happen, and it's just this metallic hand that tears apart a doll to make another one that looks like Coraline...
The animation was so good, it had to be.
Best part about the opening sequence was the music. They had a fantastic French composer, and his innocent, child-like sounding stringed pieces were so fitting.
Yet so contrasted to the metal hand stitching together a doll...
Perfect creepiness.

Aliens.
*Shudders.* Luckily, that was a long time ago, when I was 4. Imagine watching a xenomorph burst out of a human at that age. It's gonna make you wonder it that thing is in you. That kept me awake all night, just hoping a full grown xeno wouldn't come into my room. That was my first all nighter. But, that was then. Now, I can actually enjoy the movie.

Oh, god.
You were 4?
Yeah. That's entirely understandable!
Still have yet to see Aliens, but I really want to.

Heck, I was going to get a drink, and my dad was watching it, so I saw that part. Scared the hell out of me. That made me afraid for many years later. Was afraid to be in any small room that I was familiarized for many, many years. Never used a restroom other than the ones in a hotel or my home within those many years. That's how much it scared me.

Wow.
Poor Kid. As a kid...
What was wrong with public restrooms?

So, what have we learned? Disturbing things that kids watch really stick with them because their minds are still fresh. But now, I could watch a decapitation and the next minute forget about it...
It's interesting. I wonder why we aren't as scared now?

You know it's something really special when a movie can still make us feel creeped out at this age.

@Ven's:
That's the problem. Most horror movies these days don't succeed in the horror department. They succeed on the gory. And when we experience it enough, we get bored of it.

And public restrooms. I always thought that a xeno was waiting in them. That happened until I went to middle school.

I have never seen it, but I have had a flashing picture on my phone of the clown from It. It also played the theme from Halloween. Doubly creepy.
That's a really perfect example. Clowns in general... eh...

And I hope to watch Blair Witch soon! I know Cloverfield for me was very scary, mildly creepy. I like that realistic camera cinematography.

@Kid
True! Is Saw ever creepy? Or just disgustingly gory?

I know as a kid I had little idiosyncrasies like that. I think that one time I yelled really loudly and heard a police siren right after, so from then on I assumed the coppers were after me and would always duck as we passed a police vehicle.

I think SAW is supposed to mess with your head more than actually scare you...

When, you watch The Blair Witch Project. Do it alone at 3:00 in the morning for best results...

Oh, of course!
Nowadays, I always enjoy movies more when I'm by myself and watching them after midnight.
That's mostly what made Cloverfield so scary. Still... not very creepy. Not like Coraline.
