As for XIII/XIII-2 being "amazing," that's up for debate. Majority of people don't particularly care for either. XIII-2 was a better experience, again that's not saying much, and yet it performed dismally. Besides, XIII and its sequel definitely weren't evolved by any means. Felt more like a step backwards, in narrative at least. Gameplay in the sequel was at least fun.

Personally, I'm still doubtful about any localization. Of course, I hope SE proves me wrong. However, if Type-0 were to ever make an appearance outside of Japan, it's definitely not going to be in the form of a PSP game. That boat's long gone.

Actually the majaority of people loved the game. Average reviews are high, sales are high. THATS how you judge.

Its common industry inside information that type zero is comming to vita........ too bad I am the only one with inside industry knowledge, even 1up.com has said the same thing

the art style is not kiddy

Actually, the minority of people loved the game, based on numbers the sequel sold much less than its original resulting in the obvious conclusion that Square Enix fans had either lost interest in the XIII story or that they were put off by the lacklustre prequel itself.

Sure, reviews were high for the game but reviewers aren't the ones buying the game.

As for the 'common industry inside information' you seem to be privy to, I must congratulate you on your google searching skills, it took me a matter of seconds to find out the exact information you were talking about.

I also happened upon this story: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=465809

Which may or may not have debunked the initial Square Enix planning to release Type-O, but since you have access to that inside information, I'm sure you could share with us a link of some sort leading to a confirmation story by another website or publication.

I'm sorry but if you're going to go around boasting of higher knowledge than the rest of us, you can either share it and start a discussion or keep quiet and know that you're right.

Btw, the art style is kiddy.

and yet, Japanese sales are not reflective of potential sales in NA and EU. That's data they gotta take from similar games, and games within the same franchise (which is one reason why I believe that Theatrhythm is gonna wind up being the determining factor)

until I hear something official, that seems like nothing more than a rumor built to spark hope. Quite frankly, I'd prefer to see it come out on it's original release format.

Actually, it's very kiddy, and this is coming from someone who argues that Nintendo and Disney medias are not kiddy. if the characters looked more like sprites from some of the classic FFs or something, and not some cutesy thing that looks like something you'd see on Nick JR. or PBSKids, I wouldn't even think it as "kiddy". That's not to say the game is kiddy, in fact, if not for the art style, I don't think little kids would even pick this game up.

Actually, a vocal minority hated the game, whilst those who enjoyed or even loved it aren't keyboard warriors crying about how it isn't FF VII all the time. If the internet were as advanced as it is now upon the release of FF VII, I assure you it would also have gone down as a distatseful, linear game that isn't 'truly' Final Fantasy.

I loved FF XIII, it's my favourite console game ever. But I haven't bought FF XIII-2. Why? Because I don't like the fact that they are messing with the story. I don't like that Noel looks like an idiot. I don't like the fact that you only play as Lightning for about 5 minutes. I don't like the fact that the game caters to only right the 'wrongs' of the original game, trying to please those who hated XIII and leaving those who liked it generally annoyed. I don't like that the story has such a different atmosphere from XIII and sounds nowhere near as good. I don't like that the graphical quality and scope of the game is significantly lower than that of XIII. I don't like that Serah dresses like a hoe. I don't like..

And yet I'll still probably buy it. Just not now. Perhaps if they release a 'complete edition' I'll get it sooner.

That's the only main variable that some people don't see...If we were as open with our opinions back then...The series might've gone in a completely different direction, and we'd probably be seeing a lot more Final Fantasy Fanservice games and Square would probably be dead now (as in defunct, non-existant, whatever you want to call it) (NOTE: this is just a possibility and not my opinion)

As for the topic this thread is ACTUALLY SUPPOSE to be talking about...I reckon If we don't hear something by the time it's E3, I doubt we'll be seeing Type-0 localized this year

I'm going to have to completely disagree with you. Sure FFVII wasn't that great of a story, and it's not my favorite. However, if you think it would have "gone down as a distasteful linear game" then I have doubts you played it when it came out. It wasn't the story, it wasn't the characters, it was the presentation. When FFVII came out, it was during the 2nd year of the PS1 lifetime. It pushed the limits of the console while at the same time it brought in cinematic storytelling that was never seen before. Crossing real time play with CG scripted videos. It was ahead of it's time and changed how games told stories from then on.

I don't mean to be harsh, because that's your take on it. And I agree, many games would have faired differently back then if they had internet soap boxes. However FF7 isn't one of them. You can see that when you look at it from the perspective of it's release time, not today's standards.

I agree, I hated when they said they were pretty much changing everything that made FFXIII great. While I didn't like the linear tunnels, everything else in the game was beautiful and amazing. I enjoyed the story telling and HD visuals that were pretty much dumped in 13-2. Every time I fire up FF13, I always get stuck watching that amazing intro... so beautiful.

Also, don't discount Noel too quick. I did, and he ended up being a pretty awesome character. I still stand by my statement that if he was the lead, and Serah was removed, this game's story could have been something much better.

with the past fe games that have, what can only be described as, disgraced the name of final fantasy, Square makes a game that could give the series the essential revival it needs, and square doesn't release it internationally?
it's as if there destroying the name purposefully by raising peoples hopes and dashing them....
the series is a mess right now they need a good title, type-0 is a good title it's simple but square can't think simply evidentely, the series has always had an problem with over-complicating games and not releasing this game will just prove that criticism.

Sephiroth: "Cloud... You'll never let go of the darkness..."
Cloud: "Shut up."

nice comeback cloud....

Xaldin: "Is this the end?"
[he then dies]"

this is how it is actually written in imdb....
