I actually really wanted to include yours, but it was more of an issue in timing. I felt if we included your answer it would've needed a sizable amount of time to discuss to do it justice, and as Darryl said, because of the unique format of this show, I had no idea if what I was adding to our outline was too much XD...

And it's interesting to see the KH has a "first game syndrome". I find it a bit strange since, unlike FF, these aren't standalone titles you can just "pick up" and completely understand. Either way, I can definitely see the inherent attachment people can have with the characters, especially in a heart wrenching story like 358/2 days. I just know for me personally, I would find the confusion of what had happened before very distracting, and I don't think I could love any story if I'm not well versed in the back story.(if the back story actually matters)

Just to add on to what Branden said at a certain point in the show...I too had a phase where I was 'too cool for Disney', This phase lasted for about 3-4 years before I 're-watched' Aladdin at some random point and then I began watching the Disney channel with my younger brothers...And then months later, I found FFVII:AC by fate and then that brought me to Kingdom Hearts, and now it brought me back and I'm glad to be back on the Disney train.

My friends are my power! Got it memorized

I'm a new listener, but I'm going through and listening to the old episodes. I know that no one will probably see this, but I wanted to share my memory anyway.

When I was about 10 years old, my sister and I started working our way through Kingdom Hearts. We printed out a user guide, and locked ourselves in her room, and did nothing other than play the game, and eat Ramen and rice. We didn't get past the final battle against Ursula, and I still have the game save. But, it is one of my most favorite memory of all time. My sister now lives on the other side of the country, and we don't talk that much, but we both remember the "Video Game Summer" and is brings us closer together when we do see each other.
