Ever since the success of Double Fine's video game project(Which I pledged money to) on Kickstarter I have been looking for some other video game related projects to support that have potential. Kickstarter seems to me like a game changer for developers.

Now I have found three interesting projects for this month that are done funding around mid to late April. Now I'm not telling you to fund these projects, that is up to you.

1.Wasteland 2 - over $1.8 million pledged(Goal of $900,000)

2.The Banner Saga - over $350,000 pledged(Goal of $100,000)

3.Valdis Story Abyssal City - over $13,000 pledged(Goal of $8,000)

This thread isn't just for Kickstarter game projects that I find interesting, if anyone discovers a game project on Kickstarter post on this thread. I or others might be interested in it who knows.

Kickstarter has definitely swept the gaming industry. It's an interesting concept and something that is making the impossible possible. I haven't actually looked int any of these titles specifically, so can't say yea/nay

That said, I want a kick starter for a Valkyria Chronicles 4 on PS3.

Not a video game per se, but I found this one to be pretty cool.

Video game posters

The designs are awesome, and only $25 for a professional print.

It's another new week and I found some interesting new kickstarters that are video game related(the project needs to be video game themed if your posting on this thread. It doesn't have to be a game; it can be a poster, a movie and etc.).

Now onto the games:

1.Ron Paul Road to Revolution - over $5,192 pledged(Goal of $5,000)
-it's a browser game(just so you know) so your not ordering the game based on the video presented it looks like an ok game.

2.Echoes of Eternia - over $6,376 pledged(Goal of $10,000)
- Now RPG players might like this, this game is taking a modern look on a classic game. If your interested the video can explain more then I can.

3.Jane Jensens Pinkerton Road 2012-2013 - over $104,265 pledged(Goal of $300,000)
- I'm not detailed on the writer of this project but I hear that this game will be for the story.

4.The Dead Linger - over $61,447 pledged(Goal of $60,000)
- A game trying to bring back the FPS Zombie Apocalypse genre back to life again.

That's it for now also since this a Kickstarter video game thread I will link to GU articles that are in the same theme as this thread, so nobody copies any articles that are on this site.

Leisure Suit Larry's HD Remake
Starlight Inception(PS Vita Title)
Ridge Racer film(Goal was $17 btw)

I love Kickstarter as an idea, and hopefully these games will provide a great experience for gamers as well as a launch into the industry for some of the developers too. It would be unusual for me to personally pledge money towards something, but if anything really does catch my eye I don't see why not.

Never could understand kickstarting video games, maybe for indie games, but overall kickstarter just seems like a lazy way to make games for video game companies.

Run toward the horizon, and don't look back

I think it depends on the purpose. Starlight: Inception, for example. They've pretty much had to, as no publisher deems the game a viable moneymaker. It's the same with Republique. They want to see if people care enough about that type of game on the iPhone.

Ok it has been a while since I suggested video game kickstarter projects. That's just because there hasn't been any projects that have potential from my eyes, only Republique(by Camouflaj + Logan) was the most interesting project in the last month. Really most of the projects kinda suck now in my opinion. Now I found some unique projects that I want to recommend if anyone doesn't mind.

1.Kitaru - over $24,435 pledged(Goal of $25,000 with 6 Days left(as of May 28th, 2012))
-Now like Republique this is a iOS game for the mobile platform for apple devices(so far I only know it`s for the iPhone). It`s an RPG like game but it looks amazing for what it is. Check it out if your interested.

2. Zombie Playground- over $37,686 pledged(Goal of $100,000 with 29 Days left(as of May 28th, 2012)))
- By reading the title you would know this is a game about zombies. This is a zombie RPG in a school environment, you play a kid trying to survive the zombie apocalypse. Players can make weapons from school supplies they find(yeah I know). This game does have PC and Mac support.

Honarable Mentions
carmageddon reincarnation - over $431,122 pledged(Goal of $400,000 with 9 Days left(as of May 28th, 2012)))
Rend - over $2,711 pledged(Goal of $15,000 with 22 Days left(as of May 28th, 2012)))
