*shrugs* What other's claim is GotY doesn't always match up with everyone's taste. It's rare I'm phased by mainstream hype. Also, Nintendo has a huge cult following. So it's not surprising they sell and do well. Galaxy was a good game, don't get me wrong, but the Wii was terrible. So the thought of Mario being wasted on their new console makes me sad. I made the mistake of buying Wii, I won't do the same for Wii2. That said, the ol' plumber needs to come over to the 3DS and stay there!

But hey, that's just my taste and my take. ^_^

In terms of first party software, the Wii was excellent in my opinion. Galaxy 1 and Galaxy 2 were the two highest-rated games of this generation. And one of the most critically acclaimed JRPGs of this generation was Xenoblade.

By the way, Iwata confirmed in an investor meeting a few months back that a new Mario platformer is in development for the 3DS and will be out by the end of the fiscal year (March 2013).

Sadly that many games doesn't really cut it for me. I have Galaxy, Karts, Symphonia 2, and will be getting Xenoblade and Last Story. That's not a good size library for my taste, and I'm expecting that will be it for it's lifespan for me. That's not to say other's got more out of it than I. To each their own.

I was aware of the 3DS title, but thanks for the heads up. I already have Kart7 and Land3D which are great. What I'd really like to see is a visually upgraded strictly 2D platformer Mario for the 3DS! I can hope
