Well, if you take all the right steps in the game, you can actually have Cloud take Tifa out on the Gold Saucer date rather than Aeris. Also, from a canon standpoint, since Cloud has been heavily influenced by Zack's personality and not acting like himself, which could explain why Aeris was attracted to him and how he and Tifa didn't much time to bond until Cloud regains his true personality.

Play the game carefully first,read the novel later "On the way to a smile" thats supported by nomura himself about more detailed story of ffvii characters,aeris never was never attracted to cloud because he remind her zack.
