That's right folks, the Final Fantasy Union: Final Fantasy Character Battle 2010 is upon is and this is the official thread for anything revolving the competition.

There are 96 characters all vying for the title, but it won't come easily. I'm sure there will be plenty of fierce competitions along the way and even the first round has quite a few that could be very dicey.

Complete Bracket: All Pairings

To explain the process:

There are 32 seeded characters and these were determined by the amount of votes characters garnered in the initial pre-tournament thread. The seedings denote where those characters are within the overall tournament tree. The non-seeded characters were placed completely at random.

To progress, the characters will be pitted against one another and there will be a different bout every day. The character with the most votes will progress to the next round.



So, who does everything think will win? Any predictions?

Haha, all the most popular characters got Byes .
I have the feeling an FFVII character will win, but hey, maybe Seifer will get the glory just because he's, you know, fun(to make fun of).

Not sure what Bye means or stands for, but Darryl said in the opening post that those characters had the highest votes overall (the number of votes for each character is next to their name im guessing) So they proceed to round 2 sort of by default

EDIT: actually, i think its the top 32 positions of the most votes, not the number of votes they got sorry x.x

Correct, the seedings are ordered based on the number of votes. So Cloud received the most votes and Zidane was the 32nd most voted for character.

As with sports, the favourites get the easy ride as they're who people want to see the most, so because there are 96 characters (not 64 or 128) I had to give byes to all of the seeded characters. Because of this they get a pass into the second round.

Everyday a new post will be made on Final Fantasy Union which will contain a poll. You can vote in that.
