An article with a gameplay clip went up on GameInformer today.

They revealed characters like Sly Cooper, Sweet Tooth, Parappa the Rapper and Kratos.

Obviously if they were going to feature a Final Fantasy character and/or stage they would wait to reveal that later since fans would go bananas and really hype up the game. I'm concerned about Final Fantasy being represented though because only a handful of games were actually Playstation exclusives (IX, X, XII, correct me if I'm missing one) and the author of the GI article mentioned that some people like Crash Bandicoot probably wouldn't be in the game since they aren't Playstation exclusive anymore. Not to mention Square already has its own Final Fantasy fighting game. Who knows how that would factor into their decision to be involved with the project?

So do you think they'd put in someone like Steiner, Zidane, Titus, or Kihmari? Or would they opt for Cloud and Tifa for the wider recognition even though VII was also a PC game?
Who would you like to see regardless of Playstation exclusivity?
Sorry this topic is so broad, I'm really excited about this game ^__^

I don't quite see it happening, seeing as we are talking about a franchise from a company that isn't exclusive to Sony in the first place.

As far as I know, Everything in Playstation All-Stars is in fact from sony-exclusive companies. And besides, I personally would like to see Legend of Dragoon characters in this game, then FF characters

I'm so excited to finally get to play LoD when it's released on psn I missed it the first time around. Maybe they'd do a dlc tie-in if the game is successful on psn? This is a game I don't think I'd mind spending a few dollars on for a new character.

You know its not gonna happen, there will be no Final Fantasy character in PASBR manly because the character in that game are exclusives to the PlayStation. The only Final Fantasy games that were released on the PlayStation consoles only that I can think up on the top of my head is 9,10 and 12(I'm only thinking of the main series games).

I don't see any characters from those games coming to because the characters in PASBR are for one studios owned by Sony and two those character's rights could be owned by Sony as an exclusive. Also didn't Square already release a Final Fantasy fighting game called Dissidia would be kinda pointless if those characters came to PASBR.

Sadly, no chance there, pretty much agreeing with 100% of hunterslasher's comments. It's an homage to exclusives.

To expand on 9, 10, and 12; 12 had a spinoff on a Nintendo console, 9 and 10 characters are featured on other consoles (Theatrythm). So there's absolutely no exclusivity in Final Fantasy titles really.

Love to see it, great topic, just won't put a shred of hope in it.

Since this is a modified clone of Super Smash Bros. and if they are taking element from that franchise, than what would stop them from putting Third Party characters in the game. SSB Brawl had Solid Snake and Sonic in it. I think if they were to add a FF charter they would either add Cloud or Lightning because more people know about them. Other Third Party characters I think would be in PASBR would be either Ezio or Connor, because the Assassins are in nearly every game now, maybe Lara Croft (as a stretch). Also I hope they add Sora in it.

I think Lara is an extremely important PS figure, though perhaps back in the PS1 era rather than now. I'd love to see her in the game, more than any FF character.

I posted that before they announced they will be doing 3rd Party Titles.

Honestly the only similarity it has is that it fights multiple franchises and you get 4 characters battling at once. At no point did they say they were taking elements from SSB, but I guess it's fine to speculate they may. I mean, what's wrong with going with what worked?

My only reason for counting out non exclusives is just because it's called "Playstation Allstars" which means they may be hotheaded enough to not want to fill it with characters known to be big on other consoles.

Don't take my words for concrete. I just go by what the developers say and have shown. Speculation is just speculation ^_^

They put in Parappa the Rapper. Lol. I think her chance is as good as any iconic character that appeared on the system.

Since Final Fantasy is spread across many consoles, and since FF is not owned by Sony, I don't think they'll be doing this any time soon. If it were to happen, I get the feeling Square would opt for putting Lightning in, since she seems to be Square's new pet character as of late. Not that I have anything wrong with that, but there are much more legendary characters that would be much better choices like Cloud, Genesis, Squall, or Auron.
