It bugs me that the FA Cup Final is really the third biggest game being played this weekend.

It's a tradition that it's the last game of the season, played after the league is finished, 3pm on the Saturday after the last league game. But because of the Olympics and the Euros this year, it's been moved back two weeks and gets the unpopular Saturday dinner-time slot. With Man City and Man United battling it out for the league title, the Cup final takes a back seat.

You've mixed up your Football League games btw dude: There are only two Championship matches this weekend - the two play-off games, at Birmingham and West Ham (and Blackpool if you're counting the Monday game). The other matches you listed are in League One Smile The Championship proper finished last Saturday.

I agree, I think it's a shame the FA Cup is on the same day as a round of Premier League fixtures - makes it lose its sheen a little bit as a lot of supporters will only be interested in the performance of their own team throughout the day.

Who's everyone rooting for?

To be honest, I kind of want Chelsea to win the FA Cup, if only to heap more misery on Liverpool.

I don't want either of them to win to be honest. It is always difficult to support Chelsea in any endeavour, but Liverpool don't really deserve to win anything with their current form. I'll go for Chelsea this time simply because I think it would be nice for Di Matteo.

Anyway, elsewhere Middlesbrough failed last weekend to find a playoff place meaning we're down in the nPower Championship for another year. Not surprised, but I can hardly be hopeful for next season to be honest.

Kolkata Knight Riders are in fine form at the moment, having dropped only 1 point from their last 5 games in the IPL, due to one being rained off. We should have no trouble dismissing the out-of-form Pune Warriors, and I am looking forward to the juicy face off between KKR and the current leaders in Delhi.

Blue is the Colour in the FA CUP Final 2-1 and Cech the man, just saving that Carroll shot.

Good luck to the Crusaders today in the Super 15 Rugby against the Reds

Yeah I think I'm happy Chelsea won, because a) I'm a Londoner and b) I'm finding Liverpool's downfall hilarious. Tongue

City just won, looks like the title will be going to the blue half of Manchester this year. The deserve it more than United, anyway.

I'm glad Chelsea won the FA cup for the following reasons:
  • Liverpool suck and do not deserve to win anything this year
  • Kenny Dalglish is an awful manager
  • Suarez is the swine of the Earth
  • Di Matteo seems like a genuinely nice guy and it seems fitting for him to win something as a manager (not that he didn't win enough with Chelsea as a player Tongue)
Now I'm just hoping they get trounced in the Champions League final. COME ON BAYERN! Tongue

And City won. I'm quite pleased that the title should be going to them to be honest, makes a change and they seem deservèd. I would say that if United were to manage it though, they would deserve it too to be honest. Admittedly both have been helped by a big lull in competition, but Ferguson has managed to get arguably the weakest Man. United side in years into a fantastic position in the table and credit to him.

In other news, my most belovèd Kolkata Knight Riders won comfortably against both the Pune Warriors India and the big Delhi Daredevils, taking us to the top of the IPL table! Big Grin I really feel as if the title could be ours this year. We need to keep focussed though, as any of the other strong teams in the league could just sneak up and snatch it away.

Guess who beat them as well? Tongue Chelsea will be glad they won the match that mattered.
