So yeah, I know that at the time I am writing this the winner of the Premier League is already known, but not to me as I'm saving myself for Match of the Day this evening. So as I have said, I hope Manchester City do it in the end, and I don't see any reason why they shouldn't beat QPR. Having said that, I would quite like QPR to stay up too, so that means Bolton have to lose (I think Tongue).

Elsewhere, KKR were trounced in the IPL for the first time in some 6 or 7 matches, proving that we shouldn't take our playoff place for granted. Luckily, the main rivals Delhi were also beaten, easing the pain somewhat. It is vital that we win the next couple though really, as ending up in the top 2 ensures a much better chance of reaching the final and ultimately lifting the trophy.

The F1 Spanish Grand Prix just finished, and despite the fact that Hamilton could have easily won had McLaren not been so incompetent yesterday, I am very glad that Maldonado got his first win. It is a wonderful result for him and for Frank Williams. That makes 5 different winners in 5 different cars from 5 different teams in the first 5 races this season, which hasn't happened in a long time. I cannot wait to see how the season ends up panning out. Big Grin

Also, check out my new sports teams bar in my sig if you are interested in any teams I support. I made it whilst procrastinating heavily last week. Wink

Well done City, QPR made it as difficult as possible for them - you can tell they still had something to fight for too. Paddy Kenny was absolutely brilliant, and it came so close!

Holy hell what a weekend! :O I am going to tryyy and keep this short.

First of all, I'm so glad Manchester City won in the end, it was so gripping to watch. I think they deserved it overall and to have a new name on the Premier League trophy is really refreshing. I don't see why they won't continue to be at the top for years to come.
Alan Pardew has been named manager of the season, and rightly so to be honest - Newcastle came straight out of the Championship and into a UEFA Europa League spot! Unbelievable really, though there were fantastic showings from Swansea City and Norwich City in the end as well.
Glad QPR stayed up, though to be quite honest I hope Joey Barton gets a lifetime ban for his appalling showing, and if I was Sergio Aguero I would be pressing assault charges of my own. They don't need him, and with some decent summer signings they should remain in the top flight next year too.
As for those relegated, I think Bolton will bounce back, but Blackburn and Wolves will have their work cut out next season.
Finally, goal of the season for me is Cisse's fabulous kick for Newcastle - they really have bagged themselves a Senegalese master:

^my goal of the seasonBig Grin ^

i just want to bring up the joey barton incident and get others opinions on the ordeal. if you don't know happened basicly carlos tevez was running into space and depending on your ideas on what happened tevez may have been in the wrong, however i saw it as tevez running into space and being blocked off by barton, tevez arm swung round and Barton interpreted it as a punch (i personally didn't) barton responded by elbowing him in the jaw and being sent off. according to barton a unnamed teamate said "try and take one down with you" so Barton being the scum he is walked behind the city players and kicked sergio aguero for seemingly no reason, after this he headbutted vincent kompany and then attempted to fight balotelli who provoked him understandingly. it was later revealed that at half time he got into a fight with Shaun Derry who he later had to give the captaincy too. he has been charged with two violent conduct charges and a 12 match ban, personally i thought he should have been banned from playing football ever again, because lets face it he's done it before.
regardless well done city for the well deserved win.... and well done Kompany for winning player of the season and.....

Xaldin: "Is this the end?"

this is how it is actually written in imdb....

I really don't want to seem like one of those ‘fair weather’ fans, so I guess I should start things off by congratulating City despite being a United fan.

Second, I wasn't sure if I should create a separate thread for this, but has anyone seen Hodgson's England squad for the Euros?

And lastly, I shall refrain from commenting on that photo; anything I say will only sound bitter. :(

Yeah make a separate thread for that, it's not really based on this past weekend. I certainly have my opinions to voice. Tongue

I did some up my opinions above. Smile

He is an absolute idiot, and I think the punishment for him will be that managers will end up not wanting to have him in their squad whatsoever. I mean, I despise the guy. He is a complete waste of good English talent.

And that Ben Arfa goal was a good one, but my God Cisse's goal... every time I watch it it gets better! What the hell was he thinking, hoofing it from that far out?

Edit: Here's an hilarious reaction from BBC Radio 5 Live's Steve Claridge at the Cisse goal:
