Last time I checked...RPG stood for 'Role Playing Game', If that's the case then that is what I want, I've just got a lot of things to do in my daily life that I can't afford to waste my time. So I'd rather not have distractions when engaging stories, If I wanted all if those distractions...I'd be playing an MMO.

I think the shops and side-story and exploring the world is part of the role playing and the bigger story overall. Like, in 9 (spoilers ) when the destruction of the cities goes down it is made more meaningful because you went around picking up on the story of the people that lived there and the shop keepers and all the odd little things that they carried in the store. If you cruise through the game without talking with the NPCs and getting some kind of emotional attachement to the people and the places then when the big set pieces go down you wind up seeing it more from the sociopathic antagonist perspective than the people that you're role playing as. I suppose you're free to play it from whatever perspective floats your boat though.

True, I just wonder how long Fabula Nova Crystallis will last now. I for one thought this was a good series. Final Fantasy XIII was the best Final Fantasy game I played so far even without the free world, shops, side stories, and people to talk to. I still enjoyed playing the game and it will be one of those games I can play over and over again without getting bored. But people have their own opinion! People talk about change but when change comes they start regretting. I just hope they really don\'t stop Fabula Nova Crystallis. and if the vita were to get hacked and be able to play PS3 games I will download Final Fantasy XIII as my first PS3 game for my hacked Vita!

No they should not.

Far from it. If many of the people who hate FF13 payed any attention to the FNC Mythology they would realize that the story was true to the roots of FNC.

The overall execution may not be what *Bring Back Cloud* fans wanted but that is no reason to kill what can turn out to be beautiful universes (since all the pilot titles happen in different worlds) @_@

Anyways I want more of the Fabula Nova Crystallis Universe! *prays for FF13-3*

Companies make mistakes... Fabula Nova Crystallis isn;t one of em or is FF13 for that matter.

For now FNC is a rocky change of pace that I think would only get better.

Yes, but the things you listed as being things you don't like are things that have become part of the RPG genre. When someone's picking up an RPG to play generally these are the things they'll expect them to have. Though it could be why I don't like XIII; It's not really an RPG.

Well, yeah, if it's an MMORPG then it'll have these things in, because it's an RPG.

On my opinion, I think they should just proceed to a new numbered Final Fantasy or better yet a new game as a whole but at the same time, satisfying the SquareEnix fans while convincing the other gamers that they still have the skills to make the game. Lets face it, SE especially Final Fantasy has lost its direction when Toriyama started to direct FF XIII. Not saying that FF XIII was a bad game. It was actually a pretty good game. It just lacks the FF magic that Hironobu Sakaguchi has with his games. The Last Story and Lost odyssey for me was one of the best RPG\'s I played in quite some time. I fail to see the FF magic in the recent final fantasy games especially with FF XIII.

Bottom line: they should just rethink on where they stand and create a new game on which they are comfortable making but at the same time introduces us to newer things like in previous final fantasy games.

i think they should just finish Final Fantasy XIII-3, ir order to satisfy the remaining fans of the XIII series, and then move along to other numbered titles, but they also should bring type-0 to the west

Not until we have a climatic trilogy in FF13-3. The game needs to pull out all the stops. If it does? Then no, I don\'t want to see any more. If it doesn\'t? Then also no, because I wouldn\'t want my favorite gave\'s impact diminished.
