Square Enix showcased a real-time tech demo of what their new Luminous Engine is capable of, and it is absolutely stunning to say the least. This is the company's vision of next generation visuals, and it seriously blows a lot of the competition out of the water. Here is the demo below,

Maybe they'll actually make it into a game? Who knows, but the premise looks intriguing enough and world design looks astounding! What do you guys think of this development? I am actually excited after seeing that footage, something that hasn't really happened with most recent FF titles.

I think it would work better if it had nothing to do with final fantasy and was just a whole new game. I would be interested to see if this was made into a game.

It looks awesome but I don't want Final Fantasy looking THAT real. What I mean is, I still like the way the characters and such look now. I don't want my FF characters looking like real people. Know what I mean?

Hopefully this is an early look at what they doing with Final Fantasy XV. I like that they went with a middle east look/influence. Its one they haven't used before, and its always nice when they decide to go in a different direction with the art and look of a game. If that dragon looking thing that Agni summons is Bahamut, it really shows how a new and unique setting or influence can take a Final Fantasy staple and make it new looking.

And in ten years it'll either start pre production or they'll say how they would love to make a game out of it but for now they have no plans to make it into a game. Yes I'm bitter.

IIRC this is the same engine they were talking about for using with Versus (not sure if it was for everything or just the lightning)... But so far looks like this vid knocked the socks off of most people

Super awesome, but why are Tetsuya Nomura multitasking? Shouldn\'t he just focus on Versus? No wonder why it takes so long time to finish this game
