Quote:Arkane Studios’ original property Dishonored - which brings together developers from Deus Ex, Thief, BioShock and Half-Life - was one of the hot commodities heading into E3. We saw a guided demo showcasing different approaches - stealth and action, in this case - players have at their disposal, then played another level to put Arkane’s promise of player freedom to the test. After experiencing all of that, it’s safe to say Dishonored is on the right track, and should be on your radar when it comes out this fall.

This game is breaking my heart. Did Bethesda learn nothing from Skyrim? Skyrim was the first of their games I played because it offered the option of a 3rd person perspective - even Todd Howard commented prior to Skyrim's release that he was surprised by how many people preferred that option.

I can't play 1st person - it literally makes me queasy. I love the atmosphere & design of Dishonored, but I won't be playing it. I don't see why they couldn't have incorporated a 3rd person option.

Maybe Bethesda doesn't care about this one sale lost, but that wouldn't say much for them either.

I had high hopes for this game coming into E3. It still looks amazing now that we get to see gameplay. My only beef is that while the ability/weapon wheel is solid, it just looked like you're having to bring that up every 2 seconds for every ability you use.

I guess the demo was trying to show us the entire toolkit, it just really ruined the demo for me in a subtle way.

That's a real shame 1st-person impacts you so much, because Dishonored is looking very promising. I 100% agree game designers need to start thinking more about accessibility in general. For me, colour coordination in some multiplayer games can become frustrating. Why not have options to customize it?

Yeah. It probably came off worse because everything was unlocked. I'm not sure if they'll have any quick-switch controls.

You know 1st person really turn me away from a game like this. The universe of this game really has me interested, I'll put it on the 'Maybe/Rent' list of my anticipated gaming list.

Especially since they've shown the ability to incorporate customizable options in the past. I'd really like to know the decision making process in choosing which games get options - it's not like Dishonored isn't a triple A game - you'd think those would be the first games to get more options.

Oh, there I go - thinking & trying to make sense!!!!
