The DS port of Final Fantasy III is heading to the PSP, at least in Japan. No word of an international release yet.

I assume it'll be playable on Vita straight away.

Most PSP games are playable on the vita I don't see why SE wouldn't bring FF 3 over to the other continents. Then again it is $E shit will happen if there involved in the formula.

As far as I know they do them in batches, which is what I meant by straight away. Still plenty of PSP games that aren't able to be downloaded onto Vita.

Which reminds me, should download FFII at some point

Probably one of my least favourite FF games. But (assuming it gets a western release) I do think it's good that they're making it more accessible seeing as it's the only game from the first 6 that hasn't been re-released time and again.

I was pretty happy when I heard about this. Doubt it'll be too much of an effort for them to port over to PSN for west. This was definitely the last step to getting a huge complete saga to the PSN for Vita. Well, aside from getting Sony to get PS1Classics going and get FF1-2 remasterings up there as well for US. Imagine the advertising for a complete 1-10 saga on one platform.

BTW, JP version releases 9-20-12. We'll know soon enough after then the fate of US version I guess.

Andriasang: PSP version of FFIII is based off the DS remake, with some additions from the iOS version. FFIII fans can look forward to 16x9 support, a gallery mode with BGM and illustrations, the option for switching to the original Famicom/NES music, and an auto battle option that doubles the battle speed to two times.

I probably won't buy this port as I finished the iOS version a little while ago. If you haven't played FFIII, I recommend getting this because to be able to change soundtrack on the go is cool and auto-battle is great for level grinding. I used these features in FFIV: The Complete Collection and they were great.
