Theatrhythm released today and it's an epic one at that. Many of the reviewing sites are giving it high scores and plenty of praises. Which is pretty astonishing considering how niche this title would seem at face value. I thought with it's release, that those that got it can give a shout out and tell everyone what they think of it so far.

I personally am loving this game. I was a bit leery at first being as I am terribad at rhythm games. However I wanted to give it a chance being as it's a game about Final Fantasy music. I'm glad I did. I spent 3 good minutes stuck at the opening screen. Ugh that prelude music is B-U-T-FULL! I've ran FF1, FF4, FF6, FF7, FF8, and FF12 series so far. I'm loving the art style, the 3D works great, and the audio is great. I picked up the controls quickly and havn't noticed any issues as some have claimed. Most of all, the nostalgia is just biting my heart! I about got a tear grab during FF4 event clip where the music ramps up (yeah, I'm a wimp when it comes to FF classic music). I'm a bit concerned about replay value, but I'll address that when it comes. So far, I've already got my money's worth.

Funny story. I pre-ordered through Gamestop to avoid release date shipping charges. When I got there, I paid and walked out. Got in my car, broke open the box, and found no pre-order stylus. I was for sure it was packaged in the cartridge box, but wasn't sure if they changed it. I then walked back in the Gamestop and asked where the pre-order stylus is. One clerk tried to play some lie about there being a cutoff date for pre-orders to get the stylus. While the other guy grabbed a labeled (stylus inside sticker) box and put it on the counter. The funny part was that I slipped the opened one I got first out of the bag, the second clerk grabbed it and they handed me the pre-order one without noticing I opened it. I thanked them and walked out without questioning it. Oh well, Gamestop sells opened 'new' stuff all the time. I don't much care for the stickers, but the engraved stylus is actually kind of nice.

Enough about me, what about you all? Did you get it? Want to get it? Don't want to? What do you think of it?!

I don't plan on buying or playing this title but from looking at the tracklist it seems to pick some great songs from the series.

I played the demo. I'm not really one for rhythm games but I might pick this one up if I find it cheap a few months or a year down the track. Or off eBay in the nearer future.

It's nice and simple and even though I haven't looked up the track list I'm sure I'd like at least 90% of the music since I'm a big fan of the Final Fantasy soundtracks, whereas with games like Rock Band they usually have a lot of music that I don't like.

I was kinda sceptical about the game but after playing the demo I was sold on it and pre-ordered it. I don't really like rhythm games a whole lot but that game seems very awesome. In the demo I got a perfect score on all difficulties on the FFXIII track that's how much I like it. I won't get the game until after Friday because I live in Australia so I be waiting a little while longer.

Hehe that's the only reason I got it. It's FF Music! Some of my favorite music tracks ever. They do have a music player to just play the music, but sadly you have to unlock all the tracks by playing the game. Sometimes after playing a bunch, I just want to listen to the tracks! Oh well.

I'm soooo terrible at rhythm games, but let me tell you, this game is so different and very accessible. I was tempted to wait for it to hit 20 bucks, but... I couldn't resist the music! Hopefully the price will come down pretty quick for ya Smile

Ouch! Well, at leaste you're getting it in Australia. I hear some games are hard to get out there. I'll be expecting your thoughts on the game as a whole by Saturday!

FF13 was my first track to get S on, it was great. So far my favorite was FF4s so be sure to hit that one up when you get it!

Australia, as of this generation, has been good about getting games, usually with the European Release date. If the game isn't banned, like Mortal Kombat 9, games can be found fairly easily. No more banned games (hopefully) after 1st January 2013 with the introduction of the R18+ rating. YAYY.

I absolutely love it. The fact that I'm able to play any and all of my favourite music from Final Fantasy is well worth the price to buy this game. Also maybe even more important than that is the fact it reminds of why I love Final Fantasy, it just fills me with all these nostalgic feelings of the games and just makes me want to play them.

I've gotta say, I haven't played the game, and don't expect to any time soon (I don't have a 3DS and my buddy that does isn't that into Final Fantasy) But everything I hear about it leads me to believe that it does exactly what it was intended to do. I have not heard a single bad thing about it, despite all the complaining I heard after we learned that it was getting a western release.

Hey guys. Brand new member here. Nice to meet you. Smile

Theatrhythm sounds like an AWESOME game but I play PS3 exclusively so I'm really hoping that they'll port it to PSN later. They did it with Crystal Defenders. Do you think there's a chance it could happen with Theatrhythm?

Never been a fan of these kind of games, but I am gaining a little interest. Maybe I will get my sister to buy this as she loves these kind of games. And I will take a look at it
