I'm going through the MG series now 1. because I've never played them and 2. to celebrate the 25th Anniversary. I don't have too many awesome memories from the MG series as a whole as MGS1 is the only game I've beaten but Holy hell that game is great. The whole final section was great. I now know why people love this series as do I now. I can't wait to beat MGS4 to see this long ass cutscene. Go those games if you've haven't. You certainly won’t forget it.

I can't believe it is that old... It still seems so innovative to me, and just reading this makes me want to dig it back out and play again. What a game. <3

Great read. I have to agree on many ends, however I never even knew about MGO. I originally played it at my friend's house. I didn't have a PS3 at the time and he invited me over to play through the game taking turns. I enjoyed it so much that almost a year later when I got my PS3, I bought MGS4 as well and played through it all over again. My favorite part was the split screening climax where Snake is going through the microwave hallway and others are dealing with shootouts. It was an emotional joyride.

MGS4 has everything needed to be pure gold. The story was huge and well thought out. The visuals were amazing and still one of the best on the PS3. It had tons of content both gameplay wise and extras. There's so many ways to play it so it has replay value.

Best word I can give it is that it is proof positive of what games can be. In a sea of rehashes and crummy titles, MGS4 was an amazingly crafted title.

Great article there Spencer, the sad thing for me is I didn't get into the MGS series until I got the HD collection in November. I tried to beat the MGS games chronic logically, so I started and beat all the way from 3 and all the other Solid games all the way until I beat 4. I think that was bad move on my part but I enjoyed the series for what it is even MGS4.

I learned one thing while trying to get MGS4, "older PS3 games are easier to find on Amazon." I think MGS4 was my favorite out of the series overall almost tying with MGS3. I found that game so great and like you said the game did feel like an MGS1 HD, it did feel like that to me.

Sooooo....how about that MGS5 and Revengeance....?

That made me feel like an old man. And I'm only 25.

Great read though. I didn't make it far into the Metal Gear series (I still haven't finished Metal Gear for the MSX2), but I do love reading about people's passion for games.

that should of been done years ago so screw that for a joke. Instead i would rather something like releasing it again but with extras like Substance and Subsistence.

Glad to see you all are enjoying my story and Waldo don't feel bad about feeling old man. I feel like I am 30 everyday. Also in regards to MGS4 getting trophies can anybody say NGP? At the very least expect me to be playing MGS4 even more ALL OVER again.

Would be a good idea, however our first NGP was MGS1 - I think the plan for now is to keep it at one game per series.

Anyway, regarding trophies, I nearly bought MGS4 the other week when I picked up Skyrim, but Game were out of stock! So that delay was a blessing in disguise, will make MGS4 my next game now Smile
