Seeing we have a Classical Music Thread going, I thought it would be awesome to see if we can get a collection of Jazz as well on these forums.

They can be standards, solos, brand new works... basically anything in the world of jazz.

I'll start it off Big Grin

I probably know less about jazz than I do about classical but I do enjoy it. My tastes are far from traditional though, I mostly listen to fusion and swing/big band stuff. But I do enjoy the big names as well like John Coltrane and Miles Davis.

Some of my selections (I hope my interpretation of Jazz isn't too broad):

Swing revivalists Royal Crown Revue.

Al Di Meola, a fantastic guitarist mostly known for jazz fusion and Latin jazz.

And some Coltrane.

Astor Piazzolla - Libertango

I was contemplating whether this should be classified as Classical or Jazz, but I reckon it deserves to be in the Jazz thread purely for its been considered more of a Jazz piece, and that it does have improvisation (while can be used in classical music, IS more widely acknowledged a Jazz trait in modern music)

How about a Jazz interpretation of King Crimson?
