Darryl just came up with this on the Nomura's Short Trip thread and mentioned rumour of an impossible FFX-3 sequel.

I did some research andd what did I find? It seemed it was true LOL

But what caught my attention was that SE will NOT be the one developing or producing the game :/ It will be a member of 1UP, deviantART, Gaia online andd YouTube :x

Very funny because it will be 2D andd will not be sold andd the "creator" hopes to be contacted by SE to send the game so that they can consider making it into an official FF title...

So what are your thoughts on this? I really don't think FFX-2's ending invited any possibility of a sequel But it's still really amazing to see this person with high ambitions to actually go this far so I thought I could just bring this up

I had no idea someone had actually made it into a game, but when Final Fantasy X-2 was announced, Final Fantasy X-3 was heavily rumoured at the same time. X-2 would be about Yuna's story and X-3 would be about Rikku.

Please, no more FFX sequels. I loved X-2, but that was enough. Now, if we're talking prequels, then I'd be interested. Spira has one of the most rich histories of any game I've ever played. A prequel could easily be pulled off. Such as one based off Braska's pilgrimage for example. As much as we know about it already, the majority of the journey has not been told. I think it could be expanded on a lot. If not Braska's, then any of the other High Summoner's. Or something completely separated from the pilgrimage's.

Bottom Line: A prequel to FFX is extremely feasible and plausible.

I don't think X-2's ending left any possibility for a sequel but as Anthony said, a prequel would be a little more interesting

Yup. They were going to have the game follow Rikku as she tries to find the skimpiest costume known to man, but without being too skimpy so the game would go over a PG-13 rating. There's also a side plot where she tries to get her picture in the dictionary under 'jail bait'.
