Nope. I've never actually owned the first game, haven't had time.
Makes me wish there were extra bosses besides Sephy in KH2.

I defeated sephy at level 59. If you know what to do and you have maxed out your Valor and Master forms, it's quite easy to accomplish. I've also figured out a way to cheat the drive gauge so that I can replenish it back to full in a span of 20 seconds after it had been reduced to nothing.
