it took me to do Ruby weapon in FF7 about 30-40mins & omega weapon in FF8 about 1hr & alot of luck as well, all my 3 characters die a few times during a fight & my phoenix plume gets use & rezes my characters but i manage to defeat him in the process

one of my longest fights has to be when you fight Jecht at the end of final fantasy 10. it didnt take as long as some other peoples battles but what was really annoying was that i spent like an hour doing the battle and then died. I just sat there for ages staring at the game over screen (ha, sad or what).

There were a couple issues with that, People were just doing it wrong. There were mechanics in game to kill him that people weren't using. They were just being stubborn and throwing bodies at the boss while keeping them alive, as a result they took too long.

But PW has been defeated Absolute Virtue however, has not. It's been a good 6 years or so since that guy has been released and he still hasn't been killed. Nobody has been able to figure him out yet.

But in MMO's it isn't uncommon for long bossfights like this to occur, 18 hours means you are doing something wrong, but an hour or so is very possible.

Ugh... I haven't really spent as much time on a boss as you guys did, but trying to beat (FF XIII CHAPTER 10 SPOILERS AHEAD: Cid Raines was a little frustrating. I spent about (don't laugh!) an hour on him, and when I was about one hit away from defeating him, he casted Stop, and killed me. On the second try, it took me about 8 full minutes. What a difference, huh? XD Maybe I just wasn't focusing the first time...
