This is sort of a game/rant from me. See I've often thought of obtaining god like moderator powers here. You know when you see spambot and you think "if only I could ban you..." I'm sure everyone thinks about it now and then. Anyways I realise it'll never happen for these reasons...

1. I'd ban any member with a number or a strange name. Everything I see a new member with a number or odd name I instantly think "spambot". I'd look at their profile, give them an hour to post and if they didn't... BAN!!!!

2. You know those guys on the Final Fantasy XIII pirated thread who were so delighted with their illegal copies of the game? I would have crucified them. I would have changed their names to "I've No Penis'' and stuff like that. Then I'd ban then publicly and finally used the moderator powers to obtain the email accounts they signed up with and sign them up to loads of spam newsletters.

3. I'd edit every thread title that didn't have a capital at the begining of each word. That annoys me .

4. I wouldn't be afraid to start flame wars. I'd be confident in the fact I couldn't be banned and if I was losing ban the my opponents. Like them to prove me wrong then . Many times have I resisted posting things because I like it here too much to risk getting banned by starting flame wars.

5. I'd scare new people off with trigger happy banning.

So feel free to post a reply either saying why you'll be a bad moderator too or agree that I'd suck as a moderator .

I will actually admit that I do do this, to some extent. Not neccesarily capitals for each word, but properly capitalled like a title eg. "This is the Title of My Thread" - all important words capital, unimportant not capital. I will also sort out typos and spelling errors. I just feel it makes the forum look a little more tidy and professional when it comes to the titles, IMO. I don't really care about typos and stuff in posts though.

There's only one real reason I'd suck at it... Because I'd quit the same day.

I've been there and got the t-shirt with moderating in the past, and I've found that it entirely changes your position in a community. It's not necessarily a *bad* change but it's not really what I'm looking for now.


BUT... For the sake of the game.
I'd suck at it because I'd spend too much time stalking the "sooooooper seequet" staff room than posting in the public threads.

The staff section...man, you guys are TOTALLY missing loads of stuff.

Just the other day I was posting about my crazy nights out, while Darryl was talking about all the games he knows that are secretly being developed.

Resistance 3, Killzone 3 and Twisted Metal?.. titles you may have heard about? Well they're actually coming out in August. Confirmed by Darryl himself.

All that and tonnes more are in the staff section........ true story.


I wouldn't be a good moderator because I'd ban everyone who say they even remotely liked Vaan.

1. I'm power hungry, and would constantly threaten with the ban hammer

3. I'd try to pull rank where I have none
4. I am not on enough to be that useful
