Also (at the other end of the spectrum) I adore the work of Takeshi Kintano, I love how slow his movies are paced, when an action scene occurs, its so sudden and shocking that few directors impact me in the same way. Highly recommend Zatoichi/ Sonatine/ Violent Cop/ Boiling Point/ Brother.

Oh and the Korean movie A Bittersweet Life is one of the greatest vengence movies of all time- forget Kill Bill and watch A Bittersweet Life!

Totally forgot about Ryuhei. That guy's superb.

BATTLE ROYALE!! A friend showed me this movie back in 2001. I thought it was so awesome and sick!!! For the life of me I couldn't remember the name of the movie BC I've been wanting to watch it again. Thanks whoever suggested it ^_^

Brobably Gueh mool (Monster in Korean). It was pretty epic and sad at the end when the guy kills the monster and he pulls his daughter out of the monster's mouth and she's dead but she manages to save the little boy she was with
