So, I think we should all make predictions for 2010's gaming scene.
Something we can look back on at the end of the year (if we don't forget) and see who was right and who got it oh so very wrong lol.

We already have threads made by Caleb about what games do we think are secretly in development as well as things that we think will be big at E3.
This is more broad, things you think will happen with things like Natal/PS3 motion controllers. New consoles? MMO's on consoles? Digital Downloads selling more than hard copies?

So here are mine.

1) PSN - Sooner or later, PSN will become something we will pay for... but only for the games you want. Subscriptions for free DLC.

2) 3D Gaming - We all know that Avatar looked absolutely AMAZING in 3D. People will want that experience at home. I think we will see a lot more 3D titles on the PS3 and it will take off.

3) Wii 2 - It needs HD, lets face it.

4) PSP2 - After the PSPGo failed and the piracy problem. A new PSP will be in discussion.

5) Apple - Somehow, Apple will make the jump into the gaming scene big time.

6) Nintendo DS2 - will be connected to the internet all the time.

7) Cloud Gaming Will take off whether it's OnLive or other server gaming. It will be big.

I definatly agree with your thoughts on the Wii, Nintendo Ds and Apple making some sort of game console.

I'm also hoping Apple will fixed the damned problem with the apps on the ipod touch, cause i refuse to re-download the apps i've paid for! Its so annoying that most of the time all i can do is use the basic apps on there... Effing stupid thing! *Rant Over*

Oh, and 3D gaming would be awesome! But ever more so scary >.<

3D gaming won't come till next generation, at least IMO.

in terms of E3, yes, we will see a crap load of motion control nonsense. I don't really like motion controls. I never liked the six-axis, and I don't know a single soul that does. In terms of Square's 2 new games, I highly believe one to be KH3. I also believe that BBS will have some sort of intigration with KH3. Square had to have made BBS, and show it off as the secret ending to KH2 for a reason. I'm sure that they would have sold many more copies of a legit KH3, than a handheld spinoff. BBS must directly connect to KH3. After all, what happens to Aqua? Disney won't allow Square to kill off a main character. Aqua will somehow be involved in KH3, and I'm willing to put down money on it. My theories have never been wrong before!

1) 3D gaming - already very much in speculation now, will happen in 2010 (probably on Wii *facepalm*)

2) Call of Duty 7 - will be released Q4

3) Playstation 3 will outsell Xbox 360 - over the whole of 2010

4) Gran Turismo 5 will be the best selling game of 2010 (on PS3) - its a risky one, but I think it will beat Final Fantasy XIII and CoD 7 selling 10+ million copies

5) Final Fantasy XIII will sell between 8 and 10 million copies - its quite a wide spread, I know, but I think it will be very close to VII's sales, but I daren't predict whether it will beat it

6) Final Fantasy XIV will be delayed - until 2011. This is my wild card

I'm going for...

1: Micrsoft announcing a handheld console. It's been speculated for years but nothing ever happened. Could this be the year? Probably not. But I'm going to put it out there.

2: A new insomniac game series. Ratchet and Clank and Resistance have been massive successes. Maybe time for a new series from the team.

3: Final Fantasy XIII will sell more copies on the PS3 than the 360. I need to have one right. My other two are risky. This is a sure bet. Right...?

4. Kingdom Hearts will recieve another spin off. I think it will still be a while before KH III.

5. Final Fantasy XIII: Agito will be realeased in Japan

I might add more later.
