If you are addressing me, I ordered FF-VIII off of Amazon a few months ago, and it runs just as well on the PS3 as just about any other game.

I've got two versions of VIII. Original and platnium. Got the platnium when I was 8, was rough with it and disc 2 freezes after you escape the prison.
So last year I bought an original version off my friend. Works perfect but he doesn't like final fantasy so he sold it to me.
Anyways platnium version works on PS3, but original won't. Finished it finally last christmas on the ps2.
Enough nostalgic thinking. I won't be getting it because I've a working physical copy.

Just incase anyone is wondering the game is 9.99$. That is cheaper than FF-VII was :O (that was 14.99$)

OK here we go. People reported that PAL versions of Final Fantasy VIII don't work on their PS3's.

This is because the NTSC PS3 60GB is different from the PAL PS3 60GB.

The NTSC is hardware backwards compatible while the PAL versions hardware was removed and only use software emulation.
Therefore American 60GB versions can run the game, but PAL regions cannot as it's either very glitchy or it doesn't load at all.

This problem can also be found in recent models of the PS3 in both PAL and NTSC regions as all backwards compatibility was removed.

That was all I was trying to say. Ya know? RAGE xD

Basically, this being on the PSN is good news.

I have 8.99 on my psn account and I just closed my bank account, so I have to wait until the beginning of the year to get FFVIII. I beat it the second time I played it; the first was when I was about nine and I lost the third disc. >_<

I have an copy of FFVIII though my ex gilfriends sister still has it lol

If you want to buy it from US PSN, you can register an account again but set your location as US instead of EU etc and you can download from their PSN store.
