My earliest memory of video gaming was watching my uncle (who must have been about 24 and living with our grandparents at the time) playing on his Sega Genesis console. One game that really struck a chord with me was the original Sonic the Hedgehog game, a game that I was apparently so glued to my parents found it hard to keep me away anytime we visited.

Finally, for Christmas, my parents caved and bought me the second generation Sega Genesis that was paired with a copy of Sonic 2. When my uncle went on his LDS mission, I inherited his entire gaming collection: which included all the Genesis games he collected, the Sega CD and 32X addons and some games as well for both those. And I played the hell out of what I got.

In fourth grade, I was then introduced to the first PlayStation and Final Fantasy VII, and earned enough money mowing my neighbor's lawn to buy both, and any games I found interesting as time went on. But I didn't go hardcore into gaming until I bought my PlayStation 2.

And the rest is history...

This may sound odd, but my first game was for PS2: Kingdom Hearts. I came late-ish into the gaming community. However, I started gaming hardcore when I got FFX. It came out in 2001, and I'm almost 15 now. So that would mean I got FFX around 5 years old, even though I distinctly remember being 8 at the time. Don't ask why a 5-8 year old was playing Final Fantasy X, a Teen-rated game.

While in the third grade I received an ATARI console as a Cristmas gift, and that was it ! That happened over 20 years ago
