Awesome episode guys! I'd have to say one of the most memorable tracks for me would be Temple of drifting sands. It sounds so operatic and mystical.

Yes, you finally did it! I absolutely LOVE the Nier OST, been listening to it over and over again because it is just so damn awesome. This soundtrack is the first one ever I'm listening to ... and not finding a single song I dislike. I daresay I have no other album like that in my huge collection.

I am so disappointed that the Nier soundtrack lost to Epic Mickey's soundtrack in X-plays gaming awards. I mean you guys said it your selves. This is how video game music should sound.

^ It's similar, but with Nier, the accompaniment is the village theme... So the song is always playing no matter where you are on that map. Then when you get close to Devola or walk into a building she's in, you'll hear her voice in perfect time with the music.

On top of this, there's two different versions of the theme. One that is guitar based, which you hear whilst wandering around outside, and then another which is vibe/music box that is used inside the library and all other buildings. The two versions are arranged almost exactly the same, and quietly fade into one another seamlessly as you walk inside.


And now that I've been playing this game, I can't stop humming that theme (Song of the Ancients). Currently in Nier, I'm at the Seafront, but I'm aching to get back to the village. XD

I understand that. And that is really really awesome!! I love it soo much!

Back in 98' it was kinda hard to do it that well. But just to show a bit of variation, later on in the game, when you go back to the same place, she is gone and you dont hear the singing. I know there isnt different orchestration or anything, but knowing the complexity of storage (and all the content that was left out of the final product of Ocarina of Time)... Its still pretty impressive.

I loved this episode so much! i got nier awhile ago and was left completely speechless by the soundtrack. I didnt even realize that what she was saying wasnt a language lol thanks for clearing that up

p.s i've listened to this ep at least three times just to hear nier in the background lol
