If you haven't completed Resistance 2 yet, I strongly suggest you stop reading now, as the story will potentially be spoilt for you.





So, what are everyone's thoughts on the ending? I think there are two clear possibilities.

- Somehow Capelli's "hole in the brain" approach destroyed the Chimeran virus inside Hale and he comes back as a good guy (unlikely).

- Hale doesn't die and is the new bad guy; you take over and play as Capelli in Resistance 3.

Or are there other theories out there?

I've been thinking about this alot since that surprising ending to R2.

i think hale is gone for good. but i dont think that you will be playing as Capelli in R3. i think they might dig up someone new, or maybe, depending on what happens to the lead guy in resistance retribution he might become the lead character of R3.

I hope that Insomniac will work a little more on the story for R3. R2's story was not bad by an means imo, but i think they could have done more with the story line and characters so u get a greater attachment to them. They should ask Hideo Kojima or Shuyo Murata for some pointers and help.

I don't know about the main character of the third game but I've been thinking about the plot. In R2 we learned that the chimera built some kind of super weapon ages ago and were trying to rebuild it but you never found out who they were fighting all those years ago that they needed the super weaon to defeat. I reckon whoever that unknown enemy was will return in R3 and either join the humans to fight the chimera or else force an allliance between humans and chimera to defend against the larger threat.

Well, I think it's said in Resistance Retribution about an alien race. It's theorised that what's created at the end of Resistance 2 is a dimensional gate.
